      Summary:
      The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing. In addition, the Certified Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, small volume nebulizer treatment, over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.       Responsibilities:

      15.Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations.
      16.Calls patients regarding test results and medical instruction under the direction of a Physician.
      17.Calls in medication refills under the direction of a Physician or protocol.
      18.Documents patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
      19.Assists with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
      20.Assists in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
      21.Maintains the inventory of medical and linen supplies.
      22.Maintains quality control for equipment.
      23.Provides cross coverage to other clinical areas as assigned.

        Summary:

        System Antimicrobial Stewardship – Infectious Diseases Pharmacist (ASP-ID) is a clinical pharmacy specialist and leader responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of the antimicrobial stewardship program (ASP) across Rush University Health System (Rush). This includes providing multidisciplinary education on safe antimicrobial use, creating and implementing guidelines, collaborating with multidisciplinary clinicians, administrators, and support staff across the system, and analyzing metrics for antimicrobial utilization to satisfy new and existing CDC and Joint Commission standards. The ASP-ID pharmacist will be responsible for developing and coordinating innovative clinical pharmacy programs across RUSH sites conducting scholarly and research activities and interdisciplinary teaching. The ASP-ID pharmacist will serve as a key faculty member in postgraduate pharmacy training programs and affiliated colleges of pharmacy.               Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Minimally Invasive (MIS) & Bariatric Surgery Advanced Practice Provider (APP). This provider will function independently in their own clinic supporting our growing abdominal wall reconstruction practice (complex general surgery), in addition to providing post-op and follow-up support for other general surgery & bariatric surgery programs at Rush University Medical Center.

              Department/division specs

              · Practice alongside seven MIS & Bariatric surgeons and one fellow APP

               

              Duties & Responsibilities:

              · Five, 8-hour dayshifts/week

              · No weekends, no call

              · Report directly to the Department of Surgery Lead APP

              · Inpatient, outpatient and OR

               

              Preferred Qualifications:

              · Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in bariatric surgery or related field is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.

              · APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification.

              Position Requirements:

              Nurse Practitioner:

              • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
              • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
              • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
              • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certifications

              Physician Assistant:

              • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
              • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
              • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
