      Summary:
      The Clinical Dietitian 1 is responsible for providing medical nutrition therapy for patients at RUSH. Active participation in the treatment process is essential as the Clinical Dietitian interacts with patients and members of the healthcare team. This role will care for patient populations that are frequently unable to meet nutrition requirements orally, requiring enteral nutrition (EN) or parenteral nutrition (PN). This may include, but is not limited to, post-surgical, critically ill, neonatal, pediatric, and geriatric patients. This role will support inpatient and ambulatory care.     Responsibilities:
    Relationships and Caring1. Establishes a caring therapeutic relationship with patients and families
    utilizing effective communication while managing a defined patient

    Evidence-Based Practice
    1. Provides symptom managements utilizing guidelines/evidence based practice from oncology resources in collaboration with providers
    2.Performs role utilizing EBP within specialty established by nationally recognized oncology nursing associations, cancer societies and networks as well as published research and quality documents.
    Technical Expertise1. Responds to patient questions and needs via various technology: “My Chart,” staff messages, telephone contact, etc.
    2.Coordinates/Schedules admissions, surgeries, laboratory testing, radiographic exam, and infusion.
    3.Performs basic administrative tasks related to role
    4.Establishes plan for venous access via assessment of peripheral veins.
    5.Performs nursing procedures per policy.
    6.Assists providers with procedures utilizing appropriate technique.
    7.Assesses patient and family learning style to provide ongoing education regarding diagnosis, staging, treatment, side effects and self-care.
    8.Provides detailed documentation in the electronic medical record to support assessment and interventions
    Critical Thinking1. Reviews medical records to ensure completeness as applicable for patient
    diagnosis and staging. Requests additional medical records as needed
    2.Ensures new patients are scheduled for appropriate providers based upon
    assessment of patient and collaborates to alter plan as needed
    3.Assesses patients in person or remotely to evaluate current status and needs
    4.Provides telephone triage as defined by guidelines and in collaboration with provider coordinating care with infusion room, home health, urgent care or emergency department as required
    5.Recognizes changes in patient status and responds in a timely manner to optimize patient outcomes
    6.Prioritizes complex patient care based upon knowledge and clinical experience.
    7.Assesses patient compliance with treatment plan
    Leadership1. Demonstrates accountability for professional practice, continuing education
    and progress toward achievement of goals
    3.Establishes and maintains expertise regarding disease, staging, current treatment options and management of adverse events.
    4.Serves as a liaison between practice and referral sources
    5.Participates in quality metric initiatives supporting optimal outcomes and value based metrics
    6.Assists in patient identification for tumor board, coordinates tumor board and participates in patient presentation and care plan development.
    7.Participates in the orientation and education of health care team members
    8.Serves as key member of multi-disciplinary team supporting patient cohesiveness, efficiency, and patient focused care.

    Summary:
    The Guest Relations Associate is responsible for providing a welcoming and supportive service experience for patients, families, visitors, and staff. The position is responsible for greeting and responding to the needs of these customers by providing information, service, and support in a timely manner. Individuals in this position are expected to behave in a positive, professional, and enthusiastic manner, as they are often the first contact patients and visitors will have with RUMC.

    •Ensure all vendors are listed on the SharePoint site before issuing an access badge.
    •Ensure that appropriate patient information is entered into the EPIC system.
    •Collaborate with coworkers and manager on scheduling requirements and be present at assigned workstations as scheduled. Requirements may vary according to department needs.
    •Photograph, check in and issue visitor passes to guests according to the Rush Visitor Management policy.
    •Perform other duties as assigned.
