      28. Recognize and document all artifacts and equipment malfunctions, taking the proper steps to eliminate them. Report any equipment malfunctions to direct supervisor.
      29. Call 24-hour technical support line for assistance as needed.
      30. Assist patient with needs during procedure in order to obtain the required sleep/wake data.
      31. Understand indications, contraindications and adverse effects of continuous and bilevel positive airway pressure as well as oxygen administration.
      32. Apply and titrate positive airway pressure and oxygen therapy based on physician order and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
      33. Wake patient and record post-test calibrations.
      34. Gently remove all electrodes and transducers from patient and allow time for clean-up. Have patient complete post-test paperwork. Discharge patient.
      35. Perform confirmation call and leave shift report with appropriate contacts.
      36. Recognize and respond appropriately and quickly to patient physiologic events.
      37. Safely lift/move patients and equipment, using proper body mechanics.
      38. Ensure safety and welfare of all patients, including those with special needs.

      o1. An individual may be employed as a license-pending registered nurse if all the following criteria are met:
      a. He or she has completed and passed the Department-approved licensure exam and presents to the employer the official written notification indicating successful passage of the licensure examination.
      b. He or she has completed and submitted to the Department an application for licensure under this Section as a registered professional nurse.
      c. He or she has submitted the required licensure fee.
      d. He or she has met all other requirements established by rule, including having submitted to a criminal history records check.

      b. Receipt of the registered professional nurse license from the Department. c. Notification from the Department that the application for licensure has been refused. d. A request by the Department that the individual terminate practicing as a license-pending registered nurse until an official decision is made by the Department to grant or deny a registered professional nurse license.
      •Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or associate degree in nursing (ADN) (with acceptance into an accredited school of nursing prior to hire).
      •RNs hired prior to 10/22/2020 are grandfathered in with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in nursing, with no further need to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BAN or BSN).
      •Chief Nursing Officer must provide approval for any RNs with ADN degree hired after 10/22/2020, based upon unit need. ADN RNs hired after 10/22/2020 must show continued enrolment towards a BSN degree with a signature of contract stipulating a BSN degree must be completed within 3 years of hire. ADN RNS are not eligible for leveling to RN3.

      •ACLS within 1 year of hire for ICU, Telemetry, 6west, Endoscopy, PACU, IR, and ED

    Summary:
    The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. A request by the Department that the individual terminate practicing as a license-pending registered nurse until an official decision is made by the Department to grant or deny a registered professional nurse license.
    •Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or associate degree in nursing (ADN) (with acceptance into an accredited school of nursing prior to hire).
    •RNs hired prior to 10/22/2020 are grandfathered in with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in nursing, with no further need to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BAN or BSN).
    •Chief Nursing Officer must provide approval for any RNs with ADN degree hired after 10/22/2020, based upon unit need. ADN RNs hired after 10/22/2020 must show continued enrolment towards a BSN degree with a signature of contract stipulating a BSN degree must be completed within 3 years of hire.
