      Summary:
      The Admissions Registration Specialist I is responsible for reviewing patient registration for all types of admissions and elective procedures to ensure patient and guarantor demographic and insurance information is complete and current with each patient visit. The Admissions Registration Specialist I will assist patients with understanding their insurance options and collecting patient financial responsibilities. The Admissions Registration Specialist I will perform all functions in a courteous and respectful manner, advocating for the patient’s best interest and wellbeing.       7.Appropriately informs the patients of hospital policies that govern the revenue cycle. Minimizes the potential financial risk of patients accounts by discussing with the patient and/or guarantor their financial responsibility for upcoming visits/procedures, past due balances and referral requirements. Offers options and negotiates acceptable resolution of estimated patient balance.
      8.Receives and properly responds to, or directs telephone inquiries from patients, payers, physicians and their staff, internal department and other persons and entities.
      9..Ability to exercise good customer service skills when communicating with both our patients as well as our internal customers. Able to find resolution within the phone interaction satisfactory to the caller and/or having the knowledge when to escalate to their supervisor.

      Summary:

          Opportunity Information:

          · The position will render care to Hepatology patients at the Rush downtown campus and regional sites for the Rush Solid Organ Transplant program. which is comprised of eleven Advanced Practice Providers and thirteen clinical faculty.

          · The selected candidate will be responsible for providing clinical leadership across all phases of transplant hepatology, including pre-transplant, peri-transplant, and post-transplant care, with a focus on delivering efficient, evidence-based, and guideline-driven care.

          · This role includes ensuring full compliance with Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) regulations related to patient evaluation, ongoing care, data collection and submission, and clinical outcomes.

          · Additionally, the physician will lead and oversee quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing care processes and outcomes throughout the transplant continuum.

          · This role will include 70% clinical effort, 20% for administration time as Program Director, Transplant Hepatology Fellowship, and 10% for pre-transplant administration

          · The mission of the Transplant Service Line at Rush University Medical Center is to provide superior patient care and maintain superb clinical outcomes. We work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to ensure the patients will receive true multidisciplinary care in the entire continuum of the pre-transplant, perioperative and post-transplant care. The Transplant Service Line has locations across Chicagoland and northwest Indiana.

          · Rush was one of the first 10 liver transplant centers in the United States, starting in the 1980s. Nearly 2,000 patients have received a liver transplant during the program’s 35-year history. Today, the program consists of a large multidisciplinary team which works closely together to maintain exceptional patient care and excellent quality outcomes.

          Qualifications:

          · Fellowship Trained in Transplant Hepatology

          · BC/BE in Gastroenterology and Transplant Hepatology.

          · 5-10 years of experience is required

          Summary:
          The Admissions Registration Specialist I is responsible for reviewing patient registration for all types of admissions and elective procedures to ensure patient and guarantor demographic and insurance information is complete and current with each patient visit.               · This role includes ensuring full compliance with Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network (OPTN) regulations related to patient evaluation, ongoing care, data collection and submission, and clinical outcomes.

              · Additionally, the physician will lead and oversee quality improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing care processes and outcomes throughout the transplant continuum.

              · This role will include 70% clinical effort, 20% for administration time as Program Director, Transplant Hepatology Fellowship, and 10% for pre-transplant administration

              · The mission of the Transplant Service Line at Rush University Medical Center is to provide superior patient care and maintain superb clinical outcomes. We work collaboratively across multiple disciplines to ensure the patients will receive true multidisciplinary care in the entire continuum of the pre-transplant, perioperative and post-transplant care.
