We are looking for applicants at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with an interest in inflammatory bowel disease, small bowel disorders, motility/functional bowel disease, GI oncology, or medical pancreatology celiac diseases/other immune mediated GI disease. Academic appointments will be in the College of Medicine of Rush University. Our academic medical center is part of a large system focused on patient care, teaching, and research. More specifically, the Section of Gastroenterology is part of the Digestive Diseases Service Line which integrates clinical care, teaching, and research efforts to advance the subspecialty. The faculty are part of an integrated team of clinicians and researchers who also collaborate with allergy/immunology (GI/adverse reactions to food clinic), colorectal surgery and oncology (a comprehensive clinic for gastrointestinal cancers), bariatric surgery, ENT, pathology, and neurology. Summary: This role will assist in the diagnosis of heart disease according to established standards. This role will work to recognize normal and abnormal characteristics of cardiovascular abnormalities in a variety of settings. In addition to performance of Transthoracic Echocardiograms, is also proficient in and available for working in three of the following areas: Stress Echocardiography, Transesophageal Echocardiography, IR/OR Echocardiography, Clinical Instructor. As a Cardiac Sonographer understands and integrates into the delivery of patient care in regards to their growth and development process. Other information: Required Job Qualifications: · Graduate from an accredited Cardiac Sonography Program. · Certification with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). · Current CPR or Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification preferred · Proficient in Transthoracic Echocardiography and in three of the following areas of imaging or operational support: o Stress Echo o Transesophageal Echocardiography o IR/OR Echocardiography o Clinical Instructor for Echocardiography Program under contracted Clinical Affiliation Agreement o Independent oversight and management of an ongoing operational duty · Demonstrates good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment. · Has a working knowledge of the IT systems that support the modality. · Ability to identify and flag abnormalities. Physical Demands: · Requires full range body motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary. Must be able to move the equipment to perform Diagnostic Sonograms on a portable basis. · Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
