The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is recruiting for BC/BE academic and community Neurologists to work at their Oak Park Hospital location. The current team includes academic clinical neurologists that have a variety of clinical and academic interests, each with extensive experience caring for patients with a wide range of neurological problems in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Candidates will have a faculty appointment and join the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. All opportunities will include outpatient and inpatient settings and a chance to see a wide variety of neurological diagnoses. Teaching and research opportunities are also available if desired by the candidate. Qualified candidates must be graduates from an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and must be board certified in neurology. Outstanding clinical skills are required. The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, is expanding its Interventional Movement Disorder Program which oversees the management of patients being evaluated for and receiving therapies such as Deep Brain Stimulation, infusion therapies and MRI guided focused ultrasound. We are seeking an Assistant Professor to join twelve other full-time Movement Disorders specialists to join its program focused on Patient Care, Research and Education. The Interventional Movement Disorder Program provider team is composed of three neurologists, two neurology physician assistants, one neurosurgeon and one neurosurgery nurse practitioner covering 3 campuses across the Rush University Health System. Applicants should have a clinical and research interest in the utilization of deep brain stimulation, focused ultrasound, and therapies for advanced disease states to join the interventional movement disorders team. Potential secondary interest(s) in one of the following: genetics, cognition, neuropsychiatric issues, physiology, imaging or basic science are encouraged. The position will be clinically focused, with opportunities for research collaboration and educational initiatives.

Rush University holds several Centers of Excellence designations and is the largest and oldest movement disorder program in Chicagoland. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will join a larger movement disorder program, with 12 movement disorder neurologists, 3 neuropsychologists, 2 psychiatrists, and 15 clinical staff. The program also has a large clinical and translational research infrastructure, with 15 clinical research managers and coordinators.

Qualified candidates must have completed a fellowship program and be Board Certified in Neurology. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to patient care, resident and fellow education, clinical medicine, and research. Candidates should be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher commensurate with their experience and accomplishments in Rush Medical College. This recruitment is part of a key strategic growth initiative at Rush University Medical Center. This role will provide outpatient support to our Gender Affirmation surgeons in the outpatient clinic four days/week and in the OR one day/week.

Preferred Qualifications:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. Nurse Practitioner:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse

    •Clears over bed tables for patients and prepares beverages prior to each meal. 10. Uses hospital computer and communication systems for patient meal service.
    •Assists in training personnel as assigned.
