Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Epileptologist. This position will have a primary practice location at Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago but will also require coverage at other regional sites as needed. The Epilepsy Center has a multidisciplinary team that includes epileptologists, neurophysiologists, neuropsychologists, neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, clinical nurse specialists and social workers. The program offers comprehensive inpatient, and outpatient services, provides patients with a full range of medical, surgical and neuromodulation treatment options, including investigative therapies and approaches that are not wildly available. Patients who require inpatient treatment receive care on a specialized neurological unit and Neuro ICU with staff specifically trained in neurosurgical and neurological care. The center has robust research program in basic and clinical sciences, run by PHD clinical neurophysiologist.
Qualified candidates must be graduates from an ACGME-accredited Neurology residency and have completed fellowship training in Epilepsy. Candidates must be board certified in Neurology and board eligible in Epilepsy. Additional certification by the American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology is desirable. Candidates with experience in SEEG, Neuromodulation therapies and research in epilepsy and epilepsy surgery are preferable. Qualified candidates will be eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher. Teaching epilepsy fellows, neurology residents and medical students and participating in house staff education is also an expectation.

The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago, is expanding its Interventional Movement Disorder Program which oversees the management of patients being evaluated for and receiving therapies such as Deep Brain Stimulation, infusion therapies and MRI guided focused ultrasound. We are seeking an Assistant Professor to join twelve other full-time Movement Disorders specialists to join its program focused on Patient Care, Research and Education. The Interventional Movement Disorder Program provider team is composed of three neurologists, two neurology physician assistants, one neurosurgeon and one neurosurgery nurse practitioner covering 3 campuses across the Rush University Health System. Applicants should have a clinical and research interest in the utilization of deep brain stimulation, focused ultrasound, and therapies for advanced disease states to join the interventional movement disorders team. Potential secondary interest(s) in one of the following: genetics, cognition, neuropsychiatric issues, physiology, imaging or basic science are encouraged. The position will be clinically focused, with opportunities for research collaboration and educational initiatives.
Rush University holds several Centers of Excellence designations and is the largest and oldest movement disorder program in Chicagoland. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience. The successful candidate will join a larger movement disorder program, with 12 movement disorder neurologists, 3 neuropsychologists, 2 psychiatrists, and 15 clinical staff. The program also has a large clinical and translational research infrastructure, with 15 clinical research managers and coordinators.
Qualified candidates must have completed a fellowship program and be Board Certified in Neurology. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to patient care, resident and fellow education, clinical medicine, and research. Candidates should be eligible for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher commensurate with their experience and accomplishments in Rush Medical College. This recruitment is part of a key strategic growth initiative at Rush University Medical Center. The Rush Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program sees approximately 6000 adults and children per year, with all types of movement disorders. Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is growing and looking to add BC/BE academic and community Neurologists who have completed a Fellowship in Headache Medicine to their downtown Main Campus location. The Main Campus general neurology practice current team includes 6 academic clinical neurologists with Headache Medicine expertise. Candidates will have a faculty appointment and join the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center, Division of Headache Medicine and Neuro-ophthalmology. Opportunities to grow outpatient Headache Medicine Practice, including procedures, will include outpatient and inpatient settings. Teaching and research opportunities are also available if desired by the candidate.
