Family Medicine – Primary Care Physician

Rush Copley Medical Center - Fox Valley

Aurora, IL

 

Rush Copley Medical Center, in Aurora, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, is seeking a BC/BE Outpatient Family Medicine Physician to join the primary care team at the Fox Valley clinic location.

Due to significant regional growth and development, we are expanding our provider team to meet increasing patient demand. This is an exceptional opportunity to become part of a collaborative team serving a thriving community.

 

Position Details

  • Rush Medical Group Primary Care offers health care for the entire family from acute illness to chronic medical issues. Our family medicine doctors see patients of all ages — from newborns to seniors.
  • 100% outpatient role with optional inpatient opportunities (if desired).
  • Clinic is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, closed on Sundays.
  • Desirable schedule of 36 patient facing hours per week with 1 evening shift until 7pm and 1 Saturday morning per month.
  • Call responsibility: Each physician takes call after hours one day per week. Weekend call is shared 1:5.
  • The practice provides comprehensive primary care in a supportive environment with established systems and a team of 4.25 Family Medicine physicians.
  • This is a full-time position offering a balanced patient schedule of estimated 15-20 patients per day with an even mix of pediatric and adult patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics
  • Diagnose and treat acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Collaborate with nursing staff and support team
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
  • Participate in after-hours call rotation to ensure continuity of care for patients
  • Contribute to practice growth during our expansion phase

Qualifications:

  • Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical institution
  • Board-eligible or certified in Family Medicine 
  • Valid IL medical license or ability to obtain licensure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. 1.Performs a variety of office functions including the retrieval and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, filing, stocking of supplies, and preparation and dissemination of clinic correspondence and completion of Epic Administrative In-Box as directed.
2.Accesses EPIC to retrieve referrals, orders and other documentation. Assists patients with Release of Information requests.
3.Maintains and retrieves medical records per HIM and office protocol.
4.Addresses patient calls efficiently and courteously. Takes accurate, clear and concise messages that provide sufficient information for the clinical staff and/or receiving party to effectively handle the issue/request.
5.Schedules, cancels and/or reschedules patient appointments, as assigned. Places reminder calls or sends information to patients in advance of their appointment per office policy.
6.Appropriately transfers patients to pre-registration for insurance verification.
7.Prepares and disseminates patient letters and other correspondence from EPIC.
8.Problem solves issues by seeking out the appropriate resources.
9.Works collaboratively as part of the medical practice team.
10.Performs other duties as assigned.

Shift: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM

Pay Range: $16.20 - $24.28 per hour

Summary:
The Orthopedic Tech assists in carrying out patient-related activities, which require heavy lifting, such as positioning, ambulating, and transferring patients. The Orthopedic Tech assists with unit management of supplies and equipment. All of the work activities are assigned and supervised by the Registered Nurse. • High school diploma or GED.

Physical Demands:
• Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking most of the designated shift
• Work requires lifting or carrying objects 40-50lbs independently and supporting and positioning patients, many of whom may exceed 400 lbs or have special transfer needs.
• Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and contact with potentially infectious materials and/or strong chemical agents.

Responsibilities:
Assists patients with activities under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Carries out predetermined assignments for each patient as delegated by a Registered Nurse; performs selected treatments, which are commensurate with his/her training.
• Assists patients in the safe practice of activities related to the development of strength, endurance, and ambulating as assigned.
• Immediately reports changes in patient condition to the appropriate RN.
• Assists patients in preparation for, as necessary, during and at the conclusion of therapies.
• Transports patients, hospital records, beds, equipment and other materials.
Supports patient care by assuring supplies and equipment are available as needed.
• Wipes down equipment with cleaning agents as directed.
• Makes equipment and supplies rounds as needed.
• Inspects equipment routinely; reports repair needs to the appropriate department and follows up with that department.
• Takes inventory and ensures adequate stock levels.
• Delivers and picks up supplies as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area.
Contributes to a safe and efficient work environment of the clinical unit.
• Maintains a safe patient environment.
• Sets priority of duties based on needs of patient and unit, under the direction of the RN.
• Changes bed linens on unoccupied beds, contributes to maintaining orderliness of patient room.
• Answers patient’s lights and assists with patient requests.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Communicates all pertinent information to the appropriate team member throughout the shift and to the oncoming shift.
• Negotiates break time and communicates departure and return time per unit protocol
