Department/division specs

  • Team of 4 general surgeons and 2 APPs currently
  • Hring 2 full-time APPs to create a team of 4 APPs for the department
  • Rush Copley is a level II Trauma Center

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The APP will function as first assist in the OR, treat post-op patients in the clinic setting, and round on patients in the hospital as part of weekend call pool to support the General Surgeons.
  • The APP should enjoy providing care to patients in clinic setting to support goal to improve patient access
  • Desirable schedule with 4 ten-hour weekdays per week
  • Inpatient rounding rotated every 4th weekend 7am-noon; census approx. 15-20 patients
  • There are no ER call or service call responsibilities
  • Experience with Robotics is preferred

Position Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)

Preferred Qualifications:

o Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in Surgical Specialty is preferred.

o APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification if working in OR.

Physician Assistant:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
  • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. 8.Performs food and supply ordering functions as assigned.
9.Monitors time and attendance system for payroll.
10.Consults with Unit Manager/Assistant Manager regarding human resource issues (i.e. disciplinary actions and performance appraisals).
11.Meets customer and corporate foodservice related satisfaction standards.
12.Performs unit quality control measures, identifies problems or deficiencies, assist in development of and implements corrective action.
13.Ensures compliance with all regulatory agency standards and all departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
14.Ensures compliance with all departmental requirements for in-service training, employee orientation and training, and timely submission of department reports.
15.Assists unit manager, assistant manager to ensure that department goals are accomplished.
16.Orients/works with dietetic interns, as assigned.
17.Completes department projects, as assigned.
18.Conduct employee meetings, as assigned.
19.Attends and contributes to department meetings.

Pay Range: $16.48 - $23.28 per hour

Responsibilities:
•Takes patients menu selections prior to each meal, complies with dietary restrictions on special modified diets in accordance with food allergies and
sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences, when patient inquires or needs additional selections.
•Communicates and practices patient safety goals and patient confidentiality.
•Utilizes equipment in performing job functions according to department’s safety procedures.
•Assists in daily cleaning operations as needed to include dish room duties to ensure all necessary service ware is available for next meals service.
•Required to participate and attends departmental meetings and staff development programs.
•Exhibits pleasant and cheerful demeanor and maintains a helpful attitude towards employees, physicians, patients, and visitors.
•Maintains sanitation standards of the department including disposal of waste in the proper manner, sweeping and mopping floors, cleaning food service
equipment.
•Merchandises, portions and serves food and meals as directed to patients, customers and guests.
•Operates cash register and collects money for food sold in retail services.
•Maintains records, logs and reports as assigned.
•Attends departmental and hospital wide in-services as assigned.
•Adheres to departmental, hospital and regulatory agency standards.
•Assigned duties may change frequently based on the needs of the operation.
•Orders, receives, assembles, and prepares, portions, serves, transports and stores food and food service supplies in accordance with protocol. Performs
cashier, sanitation and trash removal functions as assigned.
