The Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is recruiting for BC/BE academic and community Neurologists to work at their Oak Park Hospital location. The current team includes academic clinical neurologists that have a variety of clinical and academic interests, each with extensive experience caring for patients with a wide range of neurological problems in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Candidates will have a faculty appointment and join the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush University Medical Center. All opportunities will include outpatient and inpatient settings and a chance to see a wide variety of neurological diagnoses. Teaching and research opportunities are also available if desired by the candidate. Qualified candidates must be graduates from an ACGME-accredited neurology residency and must be board certified in neurology. Outstanding clinical skills are required. Safe pick up of all regulated medical waste and materials from client sites including:  • Bio-Hazardous Waste  • Trace Chemotherapy Waste  • Pathology Waste  • Medical Waste: safely handle and package/prepare medical waste materials for transport  • Document: record client requested changes and maintain daily reports Replenish Supplies: maintain daily inventory and order supplies as needed Check and service containers throughout hospital according to Daily Service Schedule  • As a priority, ensure all containers that are indicated as 'FULL' are changed. In addition, inspect each and every container on your daily schedule to determine if changing out will be necessary to guard against containers potentially becoming full (and thus unusable) before the next regularly scheduled visit to that area.  • Return to storage area with full internal delivery carts to place full containers into transporters and replace on cart with empty containers.  • Report any cracked or broken containers or loose or broken brackets or accessories to manager. Make arrangements to replace and/or repair as necessary. Periodically inquire with floor nurses and nurse managers regarding any potential areas of focus or concerns.  • Receive shipments on assigned days.  • Communicate with manager regarding daily status and any concerns. Before leaving, ensure staging area is again neat and orderly. Be sure no containers are outside of approved transporters or delivery carts. Required Job Qualifications: • High School Graduate. • Typing speed over 35 wpm. • Previous experience in a hospital laboratory and/or as a phlebotomist is helpful. • Employees in this job classification are qualified to perform waived testing. • Employees' education and/or laboratory experience meet the requirements delineated in the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988 (CLIA '88). Preferred Job Qualifications: • Knowledge of medical and laboratory terminology. Physical Demands: • The technician's time is divided between laboratory test order entry and working in a laboratory with frequent exposure to potentially infectious specimens. Responsibilities: 1. Enters medical record number correctly all of the time. 2. Handles specimens properly with no specimen labeling errors per year. 3. Performs accurate computer entry of demographic information. 4. Performs accurate computer entry of laboratory test orders. 5. Notifies appropriate personnel of problems. 6. Performs multiple computer entry/inquiry functions. 7. Sorts and distributes computer generated reports. 8. Prepares specimens correctly for delivery and/or transport. 9. Operates the pneumatic tube station according to division guidelines. 10. Performs multiple computer specimen receiving functions. 11. Documents specimen receipt and resolves problems if necessary. 12. Processes specimens. 13. Uses the telephone properly and gives accurate information. 14. Reports accurate results. 15. Suggests and performs follow-up where appropriate. 16.
