Pay Range: $55.75 - $83.07 per hour

Summary:
The Manager of Data Governance is responsible for supporting and executing the enterprise data governance and data management program under the direction of the Director of Enterprise Data Management. This role focuses on implementing data governance policies, standards, and processes; coordinating with business and technical stakeholders; and ensuring consistent application of data quality, stewardship, and compliance practices across the organization. The Manager of Data Governance plays a key role in operationalizing data governance, enabling business units to effectively manage data as a trusted and well-governed asset.

Required Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
•6–9 years of experience in data governance, data management, data quality, or a related discipline.
•2–4 years of experience in a supervisory, lead, or program management role.
•Working knowledge of data governance and data management frameworks (e.g., DAMA-DMBOK).
•Experience supporting data quality management, metadata management, and data stewardship programs.
•Experience working with Master Data Management tools and technology.
•Familiarity with data-related regulatory requirements (e.g., HIPAA, FERPA, PCI DSS, GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
•Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
•Effective communication and facilitation skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
•Experience working with data governance or metadata tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Talend, or similar).
Preferred Job Qualifications:
•Certifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGSP (Data Governance and Stewardship Professional) are a plus.
•Experience working in healthcare, regulated environments, or large, complex organizations is a plus.
•Experience working with Informatica MDM and Data Governance toolsets is a plus.

Responsibilities:
Data Strategy Development & Implementation
•Support the execution and ongoing enhancement of the enterprise data governance and management program in alignment with organizational strategy, business priorities, and regulatory requirements.
•Collaborate with the Director of Enterprise Data Management to translate data governance strategy and roadmap into actionable plans, initiatives, and deliverables.
•Partner with business and IT stakeholders to implement data governance practices related to data quality, stewardship, data privacy, and data lifecycle management.
Policy & Standards Management
•Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of enterprise data governance and management policies, standards, and procedures.
•Work with stakeholders to promote adherence to data policies and standards and help address gaps or issues in compliance.
•Contribute to the development, maintenance, and periodic review of data definitions, taxonomies, and classification standards to support data consistency and usability.
Data Quality & Integrity
•Support the definition, tracking, and reporting of data quality metrics and KPIs across governed data domains.
•Partner with data stewards, business teams, and IT to identify, document, and remediate data quality issues.
•Coordinate data profiling, cleansing, and validation activities to improve data accuracy, completeness, and reliability.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
•Act as a key point of contact for business units and IT teams on data governance processes, standards, and requirements.
•Facilitate data governance working sessions, steward meetings, and domain-level discussions to drive issue resolution and alignment.
•Support communication, training, and awareness activities to promote data governance adoption and data literacy across the organization.
•Prepare materials and updates for leadership on data governance initiatives, progress, and challenges.
•Participate in industry forums, conferences, or professional groups to stay informed on data governance trends and best practices.
Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management
•Support compliance with data privacy, security, and retention regulations by assisting in policy implementation and operational controls.
•Help identify data-related risks and work with stakeholders to document issues and support mitigation activities.
•Coordinate with legal, compliance, and information security teams to support audits, assessments, and incident response activities involving enterprise data.
Data Stewardship & Ownership
•Support the establishment and ongoing operation of data steward and data owner roles across business domains.
•Help define and document responsibilities, processes, and workflows for data stewardship and ownership.
•Provide guidance, onboarding, and ongoing support to data stewards and governance participants.
Technology & Tool Enablement
•Partner with IT and data teams to support the implementation and use of data governance and metadata management tools (e.g., data catalogs, lineage, business glossaries).
•Assist with embedding data governance requirements into systems, workflows, and operational processes.
•Evaluate and recommend enhancements or improvements to data governance tools and capabilities based on user feedback and evolving needs.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
•Manage and mentor data governance analysts or specialists, providing guidance, feedback, and support for professional development.
•Support workload planning, task prioritization, and delivery of data governance initiatives and projects.
•Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement within the data governance team.
•Support project management activities for data governance initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational project management standards and procedures.
