Summary:
This position is responsible for accepting, processing, and performing waived and moderate laboratory testing and reporting for the testing area.

Responsibilities:
•Performs multiple computer entry, inquiry, and receiving functions. Performs transcription of laboratory orders and registration activities when needed. Demonstrates good communication and customer service skills on the phone and in person. Calls critical results, documents to whom and that a “read back” was performed and within the expected time frame.
•Accessions and processes specimens according to the appropriate procedure prepare specimens accordingly for transport or delivery. Recognizes and resolves any specimen and equipment problems.
•Utilizes required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as defined by the lab area. Labels and processes specimens properly. Performs all laboratory procedures efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision once trained. All testing must be done following Rush-approved Policies and Procedures.
•Performs required quality control (QC) procedures and preventative maintenance, including corrective action and documentation, for all procedures and instrumentation. Recognizes QC problems or discrepancies and attempts to determine the cause of problem. Notifies appropriate supervisor or designee regarding QC problems or discrepancies according to the established procedure.
•Performs basic troubleshooting of equipment and processes with minimal assistance, documents action and notifies appropriate personnel, for example, supervisors, of problems all the time. Able to recognize when additional help is needed and seek out that help.
•Disinfects the area at the beginning and end of each shift; Accepts no inappropriate specimens. Notifies the appropriate person of specimens that must be drawn or collected again and documents the notification.
•Delivers specimens to RUSH laboratory locations, and/or loads specimens on instrumentation; reviews lab results as required and takes appropriate action before verification and release. Recognizes and calls critical results within defined time frames. Reviews paper generated results and transcribes accurately into the Lab Information System; Additional job duties will be defined by the laboratory's specific bench or assignment competencies.

Pay Range: $23.12 - $36.41 per hour

Summary:
With oversight and direction from the Program Director, the Program Coordinator is responsible for the operational and financial management of the accredited/non-accredited residency/fellowship training program. This role will assess and direct a wide range of programmatic issues including long range planning, recruiting trainees, developing projects, analyzing administrative workflow, maintaining databases, communicating with faculty and trainees regarding a range of issues, and managing internal and external program relations. Required Job Qualifications:
•High School diploma
•4 years of relevant experience in office administrators of Graduate Medical Education
Preferred Job Qualifications:
•Associates degree and/or Training Administrators of Graduate Medical Education (TAGME) Certification.
•2 years of office administration experience, preferably in graduate medical education.
Physical Demands:
•Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
•Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
•Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.

Responsibilities:

•Identifies and evaluates the methods for improving workflow and cost effectiveness and makes recommendations to the Program Director for improvement. May assist in program-level policy development.
•Interprets and applies ACGME, other national accrediting agencies, and hospital policies to support compliance.
•Provides both administrative supervision and support to trainees.
•Acts as a liaison between trainees and hospital administration when necessary.
•Establishes relationships and acts as a liaison to other Hospitals, internal departments, and divisions regarding recruitment, orientation, annual program Affiliation Agreements, and external rotations.
•Oversees department-level trainee orientation.
•Develops, monitors, and reports on the training program budget.
•Responsible for purchase orders for the medical education program, processing all check requests, and paying bills associated with the program’s activities.
•May be responsible for management of grants awarded to individual residents/fellows.
•Ensures compliance with procedures regarding licensing, moonlighting, annual contracts, and initial and re-credentialing of trainees.
•Manages materials for specialty-specific trainee exams and may assist with proctoring exams.
•Develops, implements, and oversees the maintenance of filing, record keeping, distribution of materials, and other types of office/program systems.
•Evaluates and standardizes office procedures and effectively troubleshoots and resolves issues.
•Maintains databases with trainee and faculty data, including MedHub.
•Manages the evaluative processes of the trainees, program, faculty, and rotations.
•May develop and distribute call schedule.
•Oversees all purchasing for the office/program. Assesses equipment acquisition and training needs and makes recommendations to the Program Director. Orders equipment and supplies for the training office.
•Organizes meetings and prepares and distributes materials for conferences and lectures. Develops brochures, invitations, or advertisements for events/lectures.
•Creates and/or maintains external program advertising/media through websites, brochures, postcards, publications, and other such media. Creates/edits annual publications regarding the program. Maintains program’s website.
•In applicable programs, maintains the ERAS database (Electronic Residency Application System) and oversees its processes during the recruitment season.
•Performs all Match responsibilities and corresponds with newly matched trainees about requirements and process for appointment to the hospitals.
•In applicable programs, assists with quota review and rank list entry and certification in NRMP (National Residency Matching Program).
•Assists in the preparation for ACGME Self Study, Site Visits, and internal/special reviews.
•Performs other duties as assigned by the Program Director/Associate Program Director.
