Summary:
Under the general supervision of a Security Supervisor, the armed Security Officer will provide physical protection for persons and safeguarding of property on the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) Campus. The security officer will report and document infractions of rules, regulations and policies of RUMC; and violations of federal, state and local laws and/or ordinances. The security officer will exemplify the RUMC missions, visions and values and act in accordance with RUMC policies and procedures.

Other information:
Knowledge:
High School graduate or GED.
Previous hospital security experience preferred but not required.
Valid driver’s (Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin) license required.
Must have a prior driving record deemed acceptable to RUMC based upon the results of a Motor Vehicle Report check conducted by Human Resources.
Must possess and be responsible for maintaining current Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
Must have completed 28 hours firearm training as demonstrated through a certification of successful completion of Firearms Training Course.
Must be eligible to obtain a Firearm Control Card (FCC)* within 90 days of employment (*Including revolver).
Illinois Firearm’s Owner’s Identification Permit (FOID) required. International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (“IAHSS”) certification required within six months of employment and maintained thereafter.
Skills:Ability to handle confidential matters.
Ability to exercise independent judgment; excellent customer service skills.
Abilities:Must be able to stand or walk during the majority, if not entire tour of duty and be able to withstand weather extremes for external assignments.
Physically able to perform required responsibilities.
Must be able to qualify for and successfully demonstrate the use and maintenance of firearms and departmental equipment.
Must be able to wear body armor.

Responsibilities:
1.Provide fixed, walking and vehicular patrols of all RUMC buildings and grounds.
2.Perform Security Services Dispatch functions.
3.Conduct basic interviews and investigations.
4.Observe and document security and safety hazards.
5.Prepare incident reports, memorandums and other written documentation.
6.Assists local police agencies during investigations or emergencies.
7.Monitor and assist with access control and visitor management.
8.Controls and enforces vehicular and pedestrian traffic patterns in the Medical Center as assigned.
9.Provides security escort services as assigned.
10.Participates in property control procedures (accepts, records, stores, returns, or releases to authorized persons).
11.Responds to emergency situations (i.e. Code Red, Blue, Code Triage, Code Orange, etc.).
12.Performs other duties as assigned.

    Clinical & Surgical Scope

     •Surgical Volume: Perform 12–15 surgeries per week, with dedicated block scheduling from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.

     •Case Mix: Diagnose and treat sports-related injuries, including ACL tears, rotator cuff injuries, and meniscus tears. Perform arthroscopic and minimally invasive surgeries. 

    Outpatient Clinic: Average 20+ patients per day with a structured schedule (8:00 AM – 4:30/5:00 PM) and a dedicated lunch hour. 

    Facilities: Surgeries are performed at Rush Copley Medical Center or our state-of-the-art Ambulatory Surgery Center on Ogden.

In addition to providing social work services, this social worker also leverages their experience to support providers and colleagues as needed. This position is part of the Supportive Oncology team, a multidisciplinary team supporting the Rush Cancer Center, and the social worker works in collaboration with other healthcare team members to meet patients’ psychosocial needs.       Summary:

      Join RUSH University Medical Center as a Senior Epic Application Analyst and play a key role in advancing critical Revenue Cycle and Epic Professional Billing initiatives that directly support the organization’s financial strength and operational excellence. In this role, you will leverage your Epic expertise to design, build, optimize, and support complex clinical and financial applications, ensuring systems are aligned with business needs and delivering maximum value to end users.

      You will lead and support mid-to-large scale projects across multiple departments, partnering with clinical, operational, and technical stakeholders to analyze workflows, define requirements, and implement effective solutions. You will be instrumental in driving system enhancements, troubleshooting complex issues, and supporting applications through all phases of the lifecycle—from design and build to testing, go-live, and ongoing optimization.

      Responsibilities:

      • Leads and monitors midsize to large scale projects within multiple functional departments.
      • Performs complex designs, implements, maintains, and provides ongoing optimization and support for Epic clinical applications.
      • Performs workflow assessments, capture business needs, and analyze internal systems to determine functional requirements for optimal utilization of Epic applications.
      • Works within cross-functional team and with end-users to achieve application integration to meet clinical needs.
      • Performs builds, upgrades, and system enhancements as needed.
      • Supports applications throughout all phases of implementation.
      • Delivers post-implementation training, support, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
      • Configures vendor applications and products.
      • Maintains system documentation and develops system specifications and procedures.
      • Defines and documents user requirements.
      • Applies project planning and project management methodologies.
      • Coordinates and leads short duration projects; monitoring project process, progress and results.
      • Develops test plans, prepares test data and performs system testing.
      • Provides on-site user support during implementations.
      • Takes on-call for system application support at scheduled times.
      • Audits data entered by end users.
      • Troubleshoots and tracks issues and problems.
      • Applies systems development methodology to solve problems.
      • Handles multiple assignments simultaneously.
      • Other duties as assigned.

      Required Job Qualifications:

      • Bachelor’s degree.
      • 5 years of Epic application experience.
      • An Associate degree and seven (7) years of Epic application experience will be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor’s.
      • Epic certification(s).
      • Demonstrated ability to effectively utilize system tools to meet functionality needs of users including proficiency with information systems technology such as Microsoft Office Products.
      • Experienced planning and organizing day-to-day activities, effectively managing more than one task, and meeting established deadlines.
      • Experienced in leading projects, providing expert consultative guidance and direction on change initiatives, effectively dedicating time across more than one project, and meeting established deadlines.
      • Experience leading meetings between business stakeholders, technical resources, and third parties for business requirements and technical solutions.
      • Experienced working with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, and interacting with all levels of the organization.
      • Detail oriented, strong analytical, organizational, and problem solving skills.
      • Excellent oral and written communication skills with technical and clinical audiences.
      • Ability to troubleshoot, research, and solve technically challenging problems involving integrated systems.

      Preferred Job Qualifications:

      • Experience working in a hospital or other health care organization.
