Summary: The Radiation Therapist participates in the coordination of radiation treatment delivery and planning processes for Radiation Oncology patients at Rush University Medical Center. Other information: Required Job Qualifications: •Three years’ experience and three years college. •Graduate of an accredited program in Radiation Therapy Technology. •Experience working as a radiation therapist in a progressive radiation oncology department. •Knowledge of use and care of therapeutic radiation equipment and principles of clinical radiation therapy. •Registration by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as a Radiation Therapist and Continuing Education (CE). •Specialized training, administrative or technical background: mathematics, secretarial or mechanical work experience. •Organization and managerial skills, attention to detail, precision, accuracy, and professionalism. •Ability to exercise discretion and judgment. •Ability to keep patient health information confidential. •Ability to work harmoniously with patients and staff. •Ability to grasp sophisticated detail. •Able to operate: calculator, computer, linear accelerator, CT Simulator, Tomotherapy Unit Software Programs: Clinical Information/Management System, and scanning software and equipment. Interprets computerized treatment plans. 10. Enters and maintains information in the clinical information management system. 11. Performs warm-up and QA on the treatment unit. 12. Observes patients for evidence of complications and reports appropriately to the nurse or physician. 13. Obtains beam films of treatment area. 14. Calculates monitor unit settings. 15. Maintains work area according to departmental policy. 16. Assists in keeping areas stocked with supplies. 17. Adheres to universal precautions. 18. Follows all appropriate radiation protection standards. 19. Assures that room and equipment are maintained per policy. 20. Supports quality improvement and customer service activities. 21. Interacts with patients, staff, visitors and all others with an appropriate customer service orientation. 22. Attends and participates in chart rounds and other department meetings as assigned. 23. Maintains competence through attendance at mandatory and other job-related educational opportunities. 24. Run equipment checklists and set-ups, assist chief therapist in the coordination and reporting of preventive maintenance on assigned equipment, report equipment issues to chief therapist and Administrative Director, and participate/perform other tasks as assigned. 25. Interacts with both internal contacts (i.e. department staff, radiation oncologists, physicists, dosimetrists, radiation therapists, nurses) and external contacts (i.e. Rush University Medical Center staff, referring physicians, patients and their families). This position is for a full-time Business Continuity/Disaster Recovery Engineer with 4+ years of professional experience. Rush is seeking a Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery (BC/DR) Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance our IT resilience capabilities. This role is responsible for ensuring critical systems and infrastructure can withstand and recover from disruptions efficiently. The ideal candidate will have experience in backup technologies, IT disaster recovery planning, testing, and implementation, along with strong technical expertise in hybrid cloud environments. Responsibilities: * Primary owner of Rush’s backup solution. * Ensure backups complete on time and address any failures that may occur. * Capture and track performance metrics related to Rush’s backup environment. * Work in conjunction with Rush’s Cybersecurity team to create, update, and test disaster recovery plans for IT infrastructure, ensuring alignment with business continuity requirements. * Conduct infrastructure dependency mapping to identify vulnerabilities. * Participate in planned disaster recovery drills, document findings, and work with D&IS teams to address gaps. * Assist in disaster recovery activations, coordinating technical recovery efforts, and post-incident reviews. * Work closely with cloud and on-premises infrastructure teams to implement high availability, backup, and recovery strategies. * Ensure DR plans comply with industry regulations, security policies, and best practices while maintaining up-to-date documentation. * Leverage automation and scripting to improve backup, failover, and recovery processes. * Partner with cybersecurity, application, and network teams to integrate DR capabilities into broader IT resilience strategies. * Validate application tiering expectations align with IT capabilities. Requirements * Bachelors Degree and 4+ years of experience in managing a large enterprise backup environment or High School diploma/GED and 8 years' experience. * Proficient in disaster recovery, business continuity, or infrastructure resilience concepts. * Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, including hybrid cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), virtualization, storage, and networking. * Experience with enterprise backup and recovery solutions (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik, or Cohesity). * Hands-on experience with automation and scripting (PowerShell, Python, Terraform, or Ansible). * Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills. * Proficiency with documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Visio, Draw.io, or similar technology.
