We are seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist with expertise or a strong clinical focus in high-risk gastrointestinal cancers to join a growing, multidisciplinary digestive health and oncology program. Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and manage patients at increased risk for GI malignancies

• Develop and lead surveillance protocols and care pathways for high-risk populations

• Perform advanced endoscopic procedures for detection and management of premalignant and early malignant lesions

• Collaborate with genetics and oncology teams on personalized risk assessment and care planning

• Participate in multidisciplinary tumor boards and case conferences

• Contribute to program growth, quality improvement, and clinical innovation initiatives

• Involvement in research, clinical trials, and teaching

• Participate in marketing, professional activities and clinical trials in collaboration with MD Anderson and the Rush Cancer Center

Qualifications:

• MD or DO with completion of Gastroenterology fellowship

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology

• Advanced training or demonstrated expertise in GI oncology, advanced endoscopy, or high-risk cancer surveillance preferred

• A minimum of 5 years of Clinical experience is required for this role

• Eligible for medical licensure in the state of Illinois

•Ensure optimal use of Epic functionality to support efficient authorization management, including documentation capture, order review, and work queue prioritization.
•Partner with information technology and revenue cycle leadership to improve Epic workflows related to authorization management, clinical documentation integration, and operational reporting.
•Support implementation and optimization of automation tools and technology solutions that improve authorization efficiency and payer communication.
Revenue Cycle Performance
•Support the organization’s revenue cycle by ensuring services requiring authorization are appropriately cleared prior to service delivery.
•Monitor authorization approval rates, payer turnaround times, and denial trends to identify operational risks and revenue protection opportunities.
•Develop and implement strategies to reduce authorization-related denials and payer escalations.
•Collaborate with revenue cycle leadership to support financial clearance metrics and organizational revenue goals.
•Ensure staff if following the Point of Service Collection.
Provider and Clinic Collaboration
•Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, and clinic leadership to ensure clinical documentation and supporting information align with payer requirements.
•Provide expertise to clinical departments regarding payer policies, medical necessity documentation, and authorization submission requirements.
•Serve as a liaison between clinical teams, financial clearance staff, and revenue cycle operations to resolve authorization barriers and support timely patient care.
Team Leadership and Development
•Recruit, train, mentor, and manage financial clearance staff responsible for authorization operations.
•Develop team expertise in complex payer authorization requirements, service-specific workflows, and clinical documentation standards.
•Establish productivity, quality, and service level expectations for authorization teams.
•Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.

The Service Coordinator works with families located in Chicago's Northside neighborhoods, up to and including Evanston and will be required to travel to these locations.

Summary:
The Service Coordinator I with Child and Family Connections assists in determining eligibility for designated services and enables families to receive their rights, procedural safeguards, and services that are authorized under the state’s early intervention program. The Service Coordinator builds relationships that include providing information to families and coordinating information among multiple service providers. The service coordinator maximizes the use of existing resources and refers families to any other needed services, tailoring the unique circumstances of each individual child and family. Required Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in a related human service field such as early childhood special education, social work or psychology.
•Must meet requirements to obtain Illinois Department of Human Services Part C Early Intervention Service Coordination Credential.
•Successful completion of state-sponsored Service Coordinator, Systems Overview, and Cornerstone trainings are required.
•Ability to gather information, format reports, and present outcome of work assigned.
•Interpersonal skills are integral to the position and the ability to coordinate activities with many disciplines toward one goal is essential.
•Case management experience is essential.
•Good time management skills and the ability to work independently are required.
•Demonstrates knowledge of the developmental, physical, psychosocial, medical and cultural needs of children and families.

Responsibilities:
•Provides direction to families on the early intervention system in the state and local area, including their rights and availability of services.
