Summary:
The Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 is a registered nurse (RN) who works with physician practices and multi-disciplinary teams to promote the effective utilization of services and coordination of care for patients within the Cancer Center service line. The Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 contributes to the assessment of patients' psychosocial, financial and clinical needs throughout the continuum of care ensuring high quality care while supporting quality metrics of the Cancer Center and Rush University Medical Center The Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 functions as a liaison between patients, physician practices, the hospital, and the community performing functions that meet the core competencies of oncology navigation; Care Coordination, Communication, Education, and Professional Role/Care as well as the domains of the Profession Practice Model; Relationships and Caring, Evidence Based Practice, Technical Expertise, Critical Thinking and Leadership. The Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 care may be focused in medical oncology, hematology, stem cell transplant, gyne-oncology, surgery, radiation oncology, cancer screening or supporting multi-disciplinary clinics. • Current license and credentials by the state they are assigned.
• At least one year of nursing experience required.
• Earned Nursing Degree at the Baccalaureate level or higher for those hired after January 1, 2014.
• All transfers to Rush University Medical Center or Rush University Medical Group from other Rush entities must have an earned
nursing degree at the baccalaureate level or higher prior to the transfer.
• Chief Nursing Officer must provide approval for any RNs with ADN degree hired after 10/22/2020, based upon unit need. ADN RNs
hired after 10/22/2020 must show continued enrolment towards a BSN degree with a signature of contract stipulating a BSN
degree must be completed within 3 years of hire, Failure to do so will result in termination. ADN RNS are not eligible for leveling to
RN3.

1. Responds to patient questions and needs via various technology: “My Chart,” staff messages, telephone contact, etc.
2.Coordinates/Schedules admissions, surgeries, laboratory testing, radiographic exams, and infusion.

4.Establishes a plan for venous access via assessment of peripheral veins.

Summary:

Summary:
The Cell Therapy Institute (CTI) is a free-standing multi-disciplinary clinical and research center within the Oncology Service Line. The Institute will employ faculty and staff from the Division of Hematology, Oncology, and Cell Therapy, Section of Bone Marrow and Stem Cell Transplant. The institute conducts cell collection, cell manufacturing, cell receiving and storage, clinical management of patient’s peri-cell infusion, and performs clinical trials. CTI envisions to perform basic and translational research, including manufacturing cells in the future. The director work with director of apheresis and cellular processing laboratory director in these activities. The director, CTI Operations will be responsible for overall fiscal and personnel management of the CTI and all its components, including clinical trials and grants management. Director will oversee the design, development, and implementation of uniform, system-wide policies and procedures necessary to meet the goals and mission of the CTI. Required Job Qualifications:
•Master’s degree required.
•At least five years of Bone Marrow Transplant experience required.

•Responsible for revenue and expense management of CTI; partnering with revenue cycle & service line leadership.
•Responsible for all pre-award and post-award management of the grant award portfolio.
•Responsible for CTI compliance to corporate finance accounting policy and procedures and policies of the NIH and other funding agencies.
•Participates in strategic planning and long-range financial projections with the BMT/Cell Therapy Section Director if this position is occupied by another individual.
•Identifies and implements areas for operational improvement.
•Provides continuous guidance and support to all the various areas within the Institute by interfacing with Physicians, Principal Investigators, lab personnel, study Managers, data management, and biostatistical group to enhance or create systems needed to improve operational efficiency throughout the CTI.
•Oversees sharing activities with investigators outside the CTI who seek access to data and specimens.
•Oversees the updating and implementation of policies and procedures to insure the uniformity of procedures across the CTI.
•Assesses, determines, and coordinates overall staffing needs for the various areas of the CTI.
•Oversees all department training and administrative support activities.
•Oversees the clinical trials portfolio of the CTI. Oversees the pre and post award grants process.
