Located on the Rush University Medical Center campus, the Rush ambulatory SurgiCenter has surgical volumes of all categories and ranks #1 in Illinois by Newsweek’s America’s Best Ambulatory Surgery Centers.  

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The CRNA will function under the medical direction of the anesthesiologist with regard to pre-anesthetic, anesthetic and post-anesthetic patient management.
  • Shifts available are 8's and 10's and your schedule can be tailored to your specific needs. This benefit is highly beneficial and unique, facilitating your lifestyle away from the operating room. Additionally, our CRNAs are relieved on-time for their slated shifts and not on a "waterfall tear-off" system
  • Outpatient setting, No Call Required
  • Serve as a faculty member and supervise SRNAs in the nurse anesthesia program.

SRNA Grant/Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program:

  • Rush offers all SRNAs the SRNA Grant and Service Agreement. Up to one year before starting on with Rush as an CRNA, students are eligible for a grant to help pay for the cost of their education.
  • Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment Program- $5,000 of loan forgiveness per year up to four years total.

  Position Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
  • Current certification by Nursing Board Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetist (NBCRNA)
  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois RN or APN License or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process
  • CPR and ACLS certifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous CRNA experience is preferred

This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.       Summary:

      Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that maybe applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

      Summary:
      The Site Supervisor, Health information Management (HIM) will lead on-site staff, promoting accuracy, security, and compliant medical records that meet accreditation, licensing, and reimbursement requirements and efficient operations. This leader oversees operations at a health information site office, improves efficiency, promotes a positive culture and the use of Epic automation and ancillary software solutions along with exemplifying the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

      Required Job Qualifications:
      •Associate degree in health information technology, healthcare management, or other related fields or 10 years of industry experience in lieu of a degree
      •Five years of health information management (HIM) experience
      •Two years of customer service or patient facing professional experience
      •Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively
      •Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word skills
      •Strong interpersonal skills necessary for communication and training of health information management concepts
      •Ability to perform multiple tasks with excellent time management skills

      1.Lead on-site staff members and act as a HIM operations resource for the team’s work to ensure smooth departmental operations, medical records and health information management operations
      2.Understand and keep patient sensitive information protected per all applicable federal, state, and local guidelines, including HIPAA (Health Information Portability and Accountability Act) for medical records processing and requests.
      3.Triages and provides excellent patient and internal/external customer service (via phone, in-person, or by electronic means/MyChart) inquiries and on-time delivery of records to patients, payors, or approved outside entities
      4.Collaborate with Epic D&IS teams and ancillary software vendors to optimize documentation workflows and ensure efficient operations.
      5.Interact with and communicate with all levels of clinicians including physicians, residents, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and others to ensure documentation completion according to the medical staff bylaws, including deficiencies.
      6.Use critical thinking and customer service skills to ensure a positive experience for visitors
      7.Check and troubleshoot document quality control issues to ensure a legible medical record while monitoring accuracy.
      8.Oversee the maintenance of equipment necessary for departmental operations
      9.Strategically assign work within the functional areas in scope and ensure cross-training occurs to expand organizational goals and personal growth of staff members.
      10.Build relationships within the revenue cycle, compliance, ancillary departments, clinical areas, vendors, and consultants of the organization that serve as mutually beneficial partnerships to ensure revenue cycle goals are achieved
      11.Keeps abreast of changing industry and regulatory requirements and communicates changes to impacted leaders, staff, and provides training
      12.Identify trends and lead performance improvement efforts through multi-disciplinary teams to streamline processes, enhance automation, train staff, and promote accuracy
      13.Engages in development and growth of self and the team
      14.Collect, interpret, and communicate performance data using various tools and systems, while also using this data to make decisions on how to achieve performance
      15.Responsible for orienting new team members (staff & temp), staffing, performance management and development of staff. Counsel and disciplines employees, when necessary, in accordance with department and/or organizational policies. Maintains staff schedules
