Summary:
The Study Counselor supports an NIH-funded smoking cessation trial that will test new treatment strategies for ‘practice quitting’ among individuals who are not yet ready to quit. The study has a 5-year timeline and will involve delivering treatment and assessing changes in smoking status among a nationwide sample of 780 participants. The Study Counselor will deliver ‘Practice Quitting’ and Motivational Interviewing counseling, with all sessions conducted via phone or videoconference. The position allows the opportunity to work remotely 2-3 days per week with manager approval. The position periodically requires some evening or weekend hours to reach participants during their preferred time for study counseling. Summary:
The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing.
