Pay Range: $104,312 - $169,770 per year

The Strategic Outreach Manager will lead and manage the physician liaison team responsible for developing, strengthening, and sustaining strategic relationships between Rush System for Health and referring physicians, medical practices, and community provider partners. This role drives outreach strategy, enhances physician engagement, supports referral growth for targeted service lines, and aligns with Rush’s strategic objectives of expanding patient access and clinical volume. The Strategic Outreach Manager will also support RUSH leadership in sourcing, evaluating and executing on physician alignment activities which could include professional services agreements, clinical affiliations, and acquisitions. This role will combine leadership, analytics, communication, and field-based relationship skills to elevate Rush’s presence in the broader healthcare community. Required Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, communications, or related field required.
Minimum 5–7 years of physician liaison, provider relations, healthcare sales, business development, or strategic outreach experience, ideally in an academic health system or large integrated delivery network.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Prior people-leader or team supervisory experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Strategy
•Lead, mentor, and evaluate performance of physician liaison staff, guiding outreach priorities, territory plans, and professional development.
•Develop and refine physician outreach strategies that align with Rush service line growth goals and system priorities.
•Set performance metrics (e.g., referral volume growth, engagement activities, physician satisfaction) and monitor outcomes regularly.
Relationship Development & Physician Engagement
•Oversee cultivation and maintenance of strong referral relationships with primary care physicians, specialty practices, hospital partners, and clinic networks.
•Ensure consistent, meaningful engagement through in-person visits, targeted communications, physician events, and follow-up activities.
Collaborative Planning & Service Line Support
•Partner with service line leaders, clinical departments, and strategic planning teams to understand clinical priorities and support targeted outreach plans.
•Provide market feedback from community physicians on referral barriers, competitive landscape, and service needs to inform clinical and operational decisions.
Data Analytics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
•Track and analyze physician engagement data, referral performance indicators, and market trends to evaluate outreach impact and adjust tactics.
•Leverage CRM and other tools to document interactions, ensure accountability, and inform strategy refinement.
Physician Alignment Support
•Partner with Rush leadership on outreach strategies to align physicians in the market.
•Plays a key role in sourcing, evaluating and executing on physician alignment activities which could include professional services agreements, clinical affiliations, and acquisitions.
