The position will be based at the Autism Assessment, Research, Treatment, and Services (AARTS) Center in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. The AARTS Center is the region’s only comprehensive, lifespan autism center and is dedicated to addressing unmet needs of individuals with neurodevelopmental differences and their families.  

Position Summary 

Rush University Medical Center invites applications for a Biostatistician/Quantitative Psychologist to join our growing academic community. This role is designed for an expert in advanced statistical methodologies, psychometrics, and research design who is passionate about applying quantitative rigor to improve clinical outcomes and health equity.  

The successful candidate will provide high-level statistical consultation to faculty and residents, conduct independent or collaborative research, and teach within Rush University’s various health science colleges. 

Key Responsibilities

 •Statistical Consultation: Serve as a primary methodological expert for clinical and behavioral research teams, assisting in study design, power analysis, and complex data modeling. 

•Advanced Modeling: Utilize longitudinal data analysis, Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Multilevel Modeling (MLM), and Item Response Theory (IRT) to interpret clinical data. 

•Grant Support: Collaborate on the development of grant proposals (NIH, PCORI, etc.), specifically leading the statistical and methodological sections.

 •Education & Mentorship: Teach graduate-level courses in quantitative methods and mentor psychology interns, post-doctoral fellows, and medical students.

 •Health Equity Research: Support Rush’s Anchor Mission by applying quantitative techniques to identify and address health disparities within Chicago’s underserved communities. 

•Scholarly Activity: Maintain an active portfolio of peer-reviewed publications and present findings at national conferences. 

Qualifications

 •Education: Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Psychometrics, Biostatistics, or a related Psychology field with an emphasis on advanced statistical methods.

 •Technical Proficiency: Expert-level skills in statistical programming languages such as R, Mplus, SAS, Python, or Stata. 

•Experience: Demonstrated experience in a healthcare or academic medical setting. Experience with large-scale electronic health record (EHR) data is a plus. 

•Communication: Ability to translate complex statistical concepts for clinical audiences and non-statisticians.

Pay Range: $25.20 - $39.69 per hour

Summary:

The Program Coordinator position assists the Social Work and Community Health (SWaCH) department on administrative and organizational tasks to ensure that goals and objectives of educational and health promotion programs are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations, funding limitations or other specifications. This dynamic role requires an individual dedicated to continuous learning, community engagement, and interprofessional collaboration practices. This grant-funded position will serve a dual role on the Health Promotion Team. First, the Program Coordinator will spend 60% of their time overseeing the coordination of the Schaalman Senior Voices Program (aging.rush.edu/schaalman), a program that aims to strengthen the wellbeing of older adults and their communities through the collection of video testimonials, educational opportunities, and community programming. This role will involve community outreach, evaluation, project management, working with stakeholders, and video editing (prior experience in video editing not required, training will be provided). Second, the Program Coordinator will spend 40% of their time focused on recruitment and facilitation of evidence-based group programming for chronic condition management, chronic pain management, and fall prevention. Finally, the program coordinator is expected to exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values, and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

This position is full-time, for a total of five days a week and may be partially remote and partially in-person.

Responsibilities:
•Develops and schedules program work plan in accordance with specifications and funding limitations; oversees daily operations and coordinates activities of program; determines priorities.
•Coordinates activities of program with inter-related activities of other programs, departments or staff to ensure optimum efficiency and compliance with appropriate policies, procedures and specifications.
•Prepares periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
•Leads multiple workgroups initiatives, including those related to education, health/healthcare, economic vitality, neighborhood (built) environment, etc.
•Responsible for implementing program, annual, and long-range plans.
•Assists in developing program metrics and evaluation methods.
•Recommends, develops, and monitors program budgets.
•Monitors program to assure programmatic reporting and fiscal compliance of contracts, annual, and long-range plans.
•May provide programmatic input in fundraising strategies.
•Sets agendas for committees and work groups as required to support programs.
•Develops and maintains contacts with internal and external stakeholders relating to program needs.
•Develops and conducts presentations for the community, institutions and other stakeholders in line with programmatic areas of oversight.
•Prepares, modifies, and files reports and documentation as necessary, including daily summaries of activities and incidents, post-program overviews, recommendations for future services, and analysis of overall program effectiveness.
•Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Works closely with the senior manager of health promotion programs, co-chairs of the Rush Center for Excellence in Aging (CEA), and other SWaCH and CEA members as necessary to ensure programmatic success
  • Manage relationships with various stakeholders including but not limited to internal partners, funders, and donors
  • Utilize project management skills to meet the objectives of designated programs
  • Prepare periodic reports, financial statements and records on program activities, progress, status or other special reports for management or outside agencies.
  • Develops and conducts presentations for the community, institutions and other stakeholders in line with programmatic areas of oversight.
  • Resolves conflicts, troubleshoots issues, and designs/implements solutions in collaboration with the program leadership
  • Assists in developing program metrics and evaluation methods.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing skills for effective recruitment and retention of evidence-based group programming
  • Document all client interactions in Epic and/or LVM software
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
