Pay Range: $55.75 - $83.07 per hour

Summary:
The Program Manager, AI Enablement & Monitoring is a people manager and senior program leader responsible for enabling, governing, and monitoring artificial intelligence solutions across the enterprise. This role leads a small, multidisciplinary team and partners closely with clinical, operational, IT, analytics, legal, compliance, and cybersecurity stakeholders to ensure AI solutions are deployed safely, effectively, and at scale. This role reports to the Digital & Information Services Director of AI & Innovation and will be a member of the Rush Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence.
The role oversees AI enablement from pilot through enterprise adoption, establishes repeatable operating models, and leads AI performance monitoring, risk management, and lifecycle oversight in a highly regulated healthcare environment. This position plays a critical role in advancing the organization’s AI maturity while protecting patient safety, data privacy, and ethical standards.

Required Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business, Health Informatics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or related field
•7- 10 years experience in healthcare IT, analytics, digital health, or technology program management
•Demonstrated experience leading cross functional, enterprise scale initiatives
•At Experience managing or leading teams in a matrixed environment
•Strong understanding of healthcare operations, data, and regulatory environments
•Proven ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership
Preferred Job Qualifications:
•Experience enabling or managing AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics solutions
•Familiarity with AI governance, responsible AI, and model lifecycle concepts
•Experience with healthcare data platforms, EHRs, or clinical decision support tools
•Program or project management certification (PMP, Agile, SAFe, or similar)
•Experience supporting executive committees or governance bodies

Key Responsibilities
People & Program Leadership
•Lead and develop a team supporting AI enablement, integration, analytics, and monitoring
•Set clear priorities, performance expectations, and development plans for direct reports
•Manage multiple AI initiatives as a coordinated enterprise program
•Serve as the accountable owner for AI enablement and monitoring workstreams

AI Enablement & Operationalization
•Lead AI solutions from pilot through production and enterprise scale
•Establish repeatable processes for onboarding, deploying, and supporting AI use cases
•Partner with clinical, operational, analytics, and IT teams to ensure workflow integration and adoption
•Develop and maintain AI enablement playbooks, standards, and templates
•Support internal AI development efforts leveraging approved enterprise platforms and tools
AI Monitoring & Performance Management
•Define and implement monitoring frameworks for AI performance, reliability, drift, and outcomes
•Establish KPIs and thresholds for clinical effectiveness, operational impact, and risk
•Oversee ongoing monitoring of model accuracy, bias, explainability, and utilization
•Coordinate issue remediation, retraining, escalation, or retirement of AI solutions as needed
•Lead integration of AI monitoring platforms and executive dashboards
•Delivery ROI reports for AI initiatives across Rush at both a project and portfolio level
•Engage operational partners to lead and be accountable for meeting project goals related to business value creation
•Establish protocols for moving projects out of pilot phase quickly and either scale or end the project
Governance, Risk & Compliance
•Support enterprise AI governance, responsible AI practices, and model lifecycle management
•Ensure compliance with HIPAA, data privacy, security, and healthcare regulatory requirements
•Partner with legal, compliance, risk, and cybersecurity teams on AI oversight
•Maintain required documentation, audit trails, and governance artifacts
Stakeholder & Executive Engagement
•Facilitate executive updates, governance committees, and decision forums
•Translate complex AI concepts, risks, and performance data into clear executive communications
•Represent the organization at industry forums, conferences, and peer collaborations as appropriate
Continuous Improvement & AI Maturity
•Identify opportunities to improve AI delivery speed, quality, and governance maturity
•Capture lessons learned and promote reuse across AI initiatives
•Support execution of the enterprise AI strategy and roadmap
