Supports patient care by assuring supplies and equipment are available as needed.
• Wipes down equipment with cleaning agents as directed.
• Makes equipment and supplies rounds as needed.
• Inspects equipment routinely; reports repair needs to the appropriate department and follows up with that department.
• Takes inventory and ensures adequate stock levels.
• Delivers and picks up supplies as needed.
• Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area.
Contributes to a safe and efficient work environment of the clinical unit.
• Maintains a safe patient environment.
• Sets priority of duties based on needs of patient and unit, under the direction of the RN.
• Changes bed linens on unoccupied beds, contributes to maintaining orderliness of patient room.
• Answers patient’s lights and assists with patient requests.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Communicates all pertinent information to the appropriate team member throughout the shift and to the oncoming shift.
• Negotiates break time and communicates departure and return time per unit protocol
