Pay Range: $10.00 - $375.00 per hour

The Assistant Professor serves as a faculty member who contributes to the mission of the Rush College of Nursing through teaching, scholarship, professional practice, and service. Assistant Professors are expected to demonstrate teaching competence, develop a defined area of clinical or theoretical expertise, engage in scholarly work, and contribute to professional and community service. This position exemplifies the Rush mission, vision, and I CARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

•A Doctoral Degree in Nursing or related field
•National Certification (if appropriate to area of practice or specialty track)
•For RNs: Current licensure in the State of Illinois. If working remotely, current RN licensure in the home state of residence is required.

•Doctoral degree in nursing or related field (PhD, DNP, or equivalent terminal degree).
•Meets 2 Areas of Excellence as defined in the Rush CON Appointment and Promotion Guidelines (Scholarship of Teaching, Discovery, Academic & Community Service, and/or Professional Practice).
•Defined areas of clinical or theoretical expertise.
•One year of teaching experience is preferred.
•A record of positive teaching evaluations or equivalent evidence of instructional effectiveness
•Dissemination of a minimum of one peer-reviewed scholarly work in print and a poster/podium presentation (first author not required).
•Commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, and inclusive learning and practice environment.

•Develop and revise courses; contribute to curriculum committees, teaching task forces, and university-wide educational initiatives.
•Engage in curriculum evaluation efforts and develop an area of teaching or educational expertise.
•Serve as student advisor and preceptor for graduate students in clinical and/or research activities.
•Publishes or presents teaching innovation, research, or materials that enhance teaching.
•Pursue professional certification in an area related to clinical or theoretical expertise.
•Actively engage in clinical practice with demonstrated expertise; serve as a practice setting leader or clinical consultant (as applicable to faculty role).
•Establish and evaluate quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives; communicate best practices to promote translation and implementation of research findings.
•Disseminate scholarly work
•Present scholarly work at a local or regional level; pursue Co-I or PI roles on internally funded research or quality improvement projects.
•Serve on college-level committees and task forces; serve on committees for professional or community organizations.
•Provide professional consultation at the local level; engage in community, university, and college-wide volunteer activities.
•Perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair or Program Director.
