Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Pediatric Surgeon.
Position Highlights
• Join a team of 4 full-time clinical faculty and 2 nurse practitioners.
• Provide care at Rush University Medical Center and additional hospitals throughout the Chicagoland area.
• High-volume practice with opportunities to care for a broad and complex pediatric patient population.
• Ideal candidate is adaptable and comfortable working across different practice models and clinical settings.
• Strong opportunity for teaching, mentorship, and institutional service.
• Faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or above.
• Target start date: by September 2027.
Clinical Environment
• 16-bed PICU staffed by in-house intensivists, supporting busy neurosurgical and cardiac surgical programs.
• 70-bed NICU with all-private rooms.
• ELSO-certified Center of Excellence for ECMO.
• Robust Maternal-Fetal Medicine Center with high-risk mothers referred from throughout the Midwest.
• Comprehensive pediatric subspecialty services within the Department of Pediatrics.
• Highly regarded pediatric residency program.
Qualifications
• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Board certified/board eligible in General Surgery and Pediatric Surgery.
• Eligible for medical licensure in Illinois.
• Eligible for faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or above.
• Demonstrated commitment to:

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
Total Compensation Pay Range: $530,000 - $665,000
