Maternal Fetal Medicine – Advanced Practice Provider

Rush Copley Medical Center, in Aurora, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, is currently recruiting for a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join their Maternal Fetal Medicine team in the western suburbs of Chicago.

* Advanced Practice Provider experience in Women’s Health, OBGYN, or Maternal Fetal Medicine is preferred.

Duties & Responsibilities:

· The APP will work with a highly trained MFM Physician and dedicated support staff providing clinical management of high-risk pregnancies.

· Desirable Monday-Friday schedule with 36 patient facing hours per week.

· 100% outpatient role with no inpatient care, no call responsibilities

· Experience in either Maternal and Fetal Medicine, Women’s Health or Obstetrics is required

 

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush Copley Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Position Requirements:

Nurse Practitioner:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position
  • Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP)
  • Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license
  • Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable.
  • CPR, ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • Excellent communicator
  • Experience treating patients of all ages

Physician Assistant:

  • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Physician Assistant/Associate
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant/Associate Program
  • Current certification from National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants
  • Must maintain Rush University Medical Center (RUMC), Rush Oak Park Hospital (ROPH), and Rush Copley Medical Center (RCMC) clinical privileges, as applicable

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

    The Admissions Registration Specialist I is responsible for reviewing patient registration for all types of admissions and elective procedures to ensure patient and guarantor demographic and insurance information is complete and current with each patient visit. The Admissions Registration Specialist I will assist patients with understanding their insurance options and collecting patient financial responsibilities. The Admissions Registration Specialist I will perform all functions in a courteous and respectful manner, advocating for the patient’s best interest and wellbeing.     •Knowledge of insurance and governmental programs, regulations, and billing processes e.g., Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security Disability, Champus, Supplemental Security Income Disability, etc., managed care contracts and coordination of benefits is highly desired.

    Responsibilities:
    With a high degree of accuracy collects, verifies and enters into Epic the patient's demographic, employer, financial, emergency contact, insurance, subscriber and case-specific information, such as referring physician and diagnosis.
    2.Consistently has patient sign and scan all necessary documents for completion of the admission process; consent, ID, insurance card, MIMS, OBS, COB, etc.
    3.Consistently and accurately obtains and interpret the patient's insurance benefits and possess the ability to communicate this information accurately to the patient and co-workers.
    4.Has the ability to determine the patient's financial obligation and communicate this information accurately and with respect to the patient.
    5.Performs registration functions consistent with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies and payer requirements, and organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA privacy and security Regulations, as well as JACHO.
    6.Upon decision of patient’s admission, has the knowledge and skill to perform the admission notification (NOA) process which is a required communication with the patient’s payer to ensure that the payment for patient’s inpatient stay is secured.
    7.Appropriately informs the patients of hospital policies that govern the revenue cycle. Minimizes the potential financial risk of patients accounts by discussing with the patient and/or guarantor their financial responsibility for upcoming visits/procedures, past due balances and referral requirements. Offers options and negotiates acceptable resolution of estimated patient balance.
    8.Receives and properly responds to, or directs telephone inquiries from patients, payers, physicians and their staff, internal department and other persons and entities.
    9..Ability to exercise good customer service skills when communicating with both our patients as well as our internal customers. Able to find resolution within the phone interaction satisfactory to the caller and/or having the knowledge when to escalate to their supervisor.
    10.Interacts and collaborates with numerous departments to resolve issues while also analyzing necessary information that will ensure hospital reimbursement.
    11.Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, Rush University Medical Center’s Organizational Integrity Program, Standards of Conduct, as well as other policies and procedures to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical, and professional behavior.
