Summary: The RMG Access Center Specialist II manages all clinical and non-clinical calls and performs clinic activities including routine and advanced scheduling, message taking, radiology scheduling, and referral management. The RMG Access Center Specialist II collaborates with Access Center team members and practice staff to meet overall access, revenue cycle and scheduling objectives while exceeding customers’ expectations. Ensures accurate documentation, routing, and resolution of patient inquiries through integrated systems. 8.Proactively monitors and escalates areas of concern or uncertainty relating to the practices and suggests resolutions around access, capacity management, disposition of medical questions, workflows, and/or Epic build issues. 9.Exhibits mastery of specialized RMG Access Center processes including but not limited to questionnaires, subgroups, auto search, radiology scheduling workflows, pre-registration, message templates, and referral capture and insurance plan networks. 10.Adheres to service specialized workflows for multiple specialty departments across several service lines. Follows protocols built in Epic and documented practices scheduling requirements. 11.Responsible for accurately documenting appointment information and notifying the patient of information critical to their visit. 12.Drives and supports the RMG revenue cycle by minimizing potential financial risk of patient accounts through patient insurance registration activities. This includes discussing the patient’s financial responsibility for their upcoming visit, outstanding balances, and referral requirements based on Rush contracts. 13.Effectively completes point of service collections over the phone using secure payment processing systems via multiple payment options, such as credit/debit cards and/or payment plans. 14.Maintains a high level of understanding and acts as a patient resource for physician and ancillary service offerings, navigating the Rush campus, payment categories, and the billing procedures of Rush University Medical Group. 15.Exhibits sensitivity to patient health information and protects confidentiality. Safe pick up of all regulated medical waste and materials from client sites including:  • Bio-Hazardous Waste  • Trace Chemotherapy Waste  • Pathology Waste  • Medical Waste: safely handle and package/prepare medical waste materials for transport  • Document: record client requested changes and maintain daily reports Replenish Supplies: maintain daily inventory and order supplies as needed Check and service containers throughout hospital according to Daily Service Schedule  • As a priority, ensure all containers that are indicated as 'FULL' are changed. In addition, inspect each and every container on your daily schedule to determine if changing out will be necessary to guard against containers potentially becoming full (and thus unusable) before the next regularly scheduled visit to that area.  • Return to storage area with full internal delivery carts to place full containers into transporters and replace on cart with empty containers.  • Report any cracked or broken containers or loose or broken brackets or accessories to manager. Make arrangements to replace and/or repair as necessary. Periodically inquire with floor nurses and nurse managers regarding any potential areas of focus or concerns.  • Receive shipments on assigned days.  • Communicate with manager regarding daily status and any concerns. Before leaving, ensure staging area is again neat and orderly. Be sure no containers are outside of approved transporters or delivery carts. Advanced Practice Provider - Surgical Oncology - Chicago

This role will practice at Rush’s downtown Chicago campus and Rush Oak Park Hospital supporting the Endocrine and Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HBP) programs in an inpatient and outpatient setting on a five-day, 8-hour schedule. This provider will function independently in his/her own clinic supporting two Endocrine surgeons and two HBP surgeons, seeing post-ops, return and new patients. *APRN candidates must be acute care certified, first-assist certification preferred. Physical Demands: • The technician's time is divided between laboratory test order entry and working in a laboratory with frequent exposure to potentially infectious specimens. Responsibilities: 1. Performs accurate computer entry of laboratory test orders. 5. Notifies appropriate personnel of problems. 6. Performs multiple computer entry/inquiry functions. 7. Sorts and distributes computer generated reports. 8. Prepares specimens correctly for delivery and/or transport. 9. Operates the pneumatic tube station according to division guidelines. 10. Performs multiple computer specimen receiving functions. 11. Documents specimen receipt and resolves problems if necessary. 12. Processes specimens. 13. Uses the telephone properly and gives accurate information. 14. Reports accurate results. 15. Suggests and performs follow-up where appropriate. 16.
