        Qualifications:

        Rush University has an excellent full time faculty opportunity for a board-certified neurologist who is fellowship-trained in Neuro-Ophthalmology.

        The Neuro-ophthalmology service is housed in the Division of Headache and Neuro-Ophthalmology within the Department of Neurological Sciences. Duties include clinical practice as well as the education of residents and medical students. Clinical duties are focused on outpatient care, with shared coverage of inpatient neuro-ophthalmology consultation. There are dedicated outpatient clinic rooms for neuro-ophthalmologic practice with on-site Humphrey Visual Field and OCT machine within the Neurology clinic space.

        The Neuro-Ophthalmology service at Rush University Medical Center works in close partnership with the Department of Ophthalmology and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to be involved ophthalmology resident teaching and clinical supervision, as well as shared conferences with the Rush Eye Center. Further inpatient clinical opportunities are also available as well as other blended practice models integrating additional subspecialty interests such as Headache, Neuroimmunology or Stroke. The incumbent will regularly conduct coding reviews of CPT, ICD-10, and modifier utilization.       • Bachelor’s Degree

      • Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certification in conjunction with physician based coding experience, including evaluation & management (E/M) and surgical coding experience, may be considered contingent upon CPC or CCS-P certification being acquired within the first 6 months of employment.

        •Participates in pre-admission patient planning calls and collaborates with inpatient case managers to develop and execute discharge plans for surgical patients.
        •Maintains relationships with referring Rush clinics through consistent and timely communication.
        •Connects patients and their families to relevant resources, both at Rush and in the community, to address their needs.
        •Provides psychiatric evaluations and produce letters of readiness for patients seeking gender affirmation surgery.
        •Completes all documentation and billing of patient sessions and other patient interactions in Epic software.
        •Maintains relationship with Affirm providers through consistent and timely communication and participation in interdisciplinary meetings as scheduled.

        Required Job Qualifications:
        • Master’s degree in Social Work required.
        • Current State of Illinois Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensure required.
        • At least three years of experience in healthcare, care management, mental health, and/or social services required.
        • Clinical experience with relevant population(s) required.
        • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite.
        • Strong active listening, critical thinking, judgment and decision-making skills.
        • Ability to approach clients and workplace from a trauma-informed and health equity lens.
        Preferred Job Qualifications:
        • Experience with evidenced-based interventions preferred.
        • Experience with high risk and/or complex populations preferred.
