      Job Summary:
      The Research Assistant is responsible for collecting information according to the research study protocols. The Research Assistant conducts assessments and collect data and/or biological samples from research studies. In addition, the Research Assistant assists in writing a variety of reports and publications.       Required Job Qualifications:
      •High school diploma/GED required.
      •Entry level proficiency in Microsoft Office, including spreadsheets and databases.
      •Detail oriented with high attention to accuracy.
      •Strong written and verbal communication skills.
      •Ability to develop rapport with a diverse pool of research participants.
      •Ability to navigate sensitive topics and maintain confidentiality of participants.
      •Ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary team settings.

      Job Responsibilities:
      •Recruits, screens, and schedules potential study participants.

      •Assists in grant proposal writing.
      •Assists in communications with researchers and members of the research community.
      •Arranges and conducts experiments for research study, including explaining the goals of the study and arranging for the evaluation.
      •Follows up by phone, email, and email with research colleagues.
      •Participates in the preparation and delivery of presentations to disseminate study findings.
      •Analyzes data and drafts data reports, manuscripts, and presentations.

This includes but is not limited to discussing the patient’s financial responsibility for their upcoming visit, outstanding balances, and referral requirements based on Rush contracts.
    10.Effectively completes point of service collections over the phone using secure payment processing systems via multiple payment options, such as credit/debit cards and/or payment plans.
    11.Maintains a high level of understanding and acts as a patient resource for physician and ancillary service offerings, navigating the Rush campus, payment categories, and the billing procedures of Rush University.

    •The neuro-geneticist will join nine full-time Movement Disorders specialists, four neuropsychologists, two psychiatrists, four neurologist fellows, one full-time genetic counselor, a physician-assistant and an advanced practice nurse on the downtown campus to support our mission focused on Patient Care, Research and Education.  

    •The neuro-geneticist will participate in outpatient clinics and multi-disciplinary programs, such as the new Rush Center for Genomic Medicine (RCOG), which is a collaborative center with the Department of Pediatrics.
