Summary:
The Staff Research Scientist will design and perform complex scientific research experiments. This person will lead research efforts on human iPSC-based disease modeling or/and CRISPR gene perturbations. The job will perform experiments, analyze data, compile results, and monitor quality control processes to ensure integrity of research. The position will utilize knowledge of molecular biology, neurobiology, cell biology, human genomics, and stem cell biology. This person will troubleshoot and evaluate data, and prepare manuscripts based on experimental results. The work requires the application of highly specialized knowledge of brain development and human genetic/epigenetic regulations. Some of the related techniques that will be applied in the research to be conducted will include human iPSC cultures, neural differentiation, brain organoid cultures, high-content imaging, molecular biology, viral packaging, CRISPR gene perturbations and data analysis. Summary:

Sleep Surgeon – Clinical Faculty/Physician

 The RUSH Section of Sleep Surgery provides comprehensive care for patients with sleep disorders, offering the full spectrum of procedures, including nasal and soft tissue surgery, hypoglossal nerve stimulation and skeletal procedures, such as maxillomandibular advancement surgery and surgically-assisted rapid palatal expansion. The Section delivers care at main campus and affiliated sites in Oak Park and Oak Brook. The Sleep Surgery program has grown rapidly in recent years, drawing patients from the greater Chicago region and beyond. The Section has a busy research program and is involved in multiple FDA clinical trials. An ACGME sleep medicine and surgery fellowship in conjunction with the Section of Sleep Medicine is planned within 1-2 years.

The Section is looking for an experienced sleep surgeon at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, preferably with sleep medicine and/or surgery fellowship training to join Dr. Mike Hutz, a dual-boarded Otolaryngologist and Sleep Medicine specialist. The recruit will have an opportunity to develop a comprehensive sleep surgery practice, educate residents and medical students, and participate in research and clinical trials. The faculty member will also have the opportunity to practice comprehensive otolaryngology in the department based on interest.

The department has 20 faculty, 7 APPs, and 9 audiologists that provide comprehensive array of otolaryngology services at the main campus and 6 regional sites in Illinois and Indiana. The program is currently ranked #19 on US News and World Report, top ranking in the state of Illinois.

Rush University Children’s Hospital, located in downtown Chicago, is seeking  a Pediatric Neurologist with expertise in pediatric epilepsy to join its growing team in the Division of Pediatric Neurology. Rush is proud to have strong programs in Epilepsy, Neurogenetics and Neuromuscular Diseases. Multiple funded research projects are ongoing in the Division with focuses on muscular dystrophy, Fragile X disease, Rett syndrome, Neimann-Pick and other neurogenetic areas.

The successful candidate will have an interest in epilepsy surgery. Qualifications include an MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent; BC/BE in Epilepsy or Neurophysiology; have completed additional fellowship training in pediatric neurophysiology/epilepsy; hold/eligible for medical licensure in Illinois. The ideal candidate will become actively involved in the teaching program for medical students, Pediatric residents, and Neurology residents at Rush. Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor Nuclear Medicine and with limited supervision, coordinates and performs a full range of Nuclear Medicine examinations, contributing to the efficient operation of the department. Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Minimum or 3 months to 1 year experience
• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program. Associate degree preferred, certified in
• Nuclear Medicine, (N.M.T.C.B.) or Registered by the ARRT.
• Must have a current active Illinois State License.
• Current CPR
• Must have the ability to deal efficiently and courteously with all hospital personnel and patients.
• Verbal and written skill necessary to facilitate communication with a variety of people.
• Ability to maintain confidential information.
• Knowledge of various Nuclear Medicine equipment, PACs system, EPIC EMR as well as the hospital phone system and patient transportation devices.
• Basic knowledge of nuclear medicine equipment comes from Clinical experience.
• Orientation of hospital/departmental specific equipment will be provided during orientation/probation period
Physical Demands:
• Physical, visual, auditory as well as full body mobility to successfully, move and/or assists patients on and off exam table or transportation devices and complete ordered exam, 100% if the time.

Responsibilities:
• Receives and reviews requests for Nuclear Medicine Studies.
• Has the knowledge and ability to order radioisotopes needed to complete workflow for the day and in preparation for the next day’s schedule.
• Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
• Explains and prepares the patient for the procedure
• Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to ensure scans of diagnostic quality.
• Operates highly complex equipment within the department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality scans using the established protocols
• Maintains equipment and required logs within the department and hot lab, including quality control measures, within Nuclear Meicine, including daily camera QC, area surveys, and equipment QC
• Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to the supervisor and helps maintain equipment in proper working condition.
• Administers various radioisotopes to render specific organs or systems for scanning.
• Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
• Has working knowledge of clinical computer applications, as well as PACs and EPIC applications for patient orders, status changes, patient profiles, charges and imaging.
• Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders
• Able to work independently, document procedures in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and state/federal requirements.
• Able to take call on a rotating schedule.
