Rush Heart & Vascular, part of the Rush University System for Health, is seeking a Director of the Heart Center for Women to join our nationally recognized cardiovascular team in downtown Chicago. This position includes an academic appointment within the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Cardiology. The role is ideal for a physician specializing in General/Non-Invasive Cardiology with a passion for advancing women’s cardiovascular health within a premier academic health system.
Position Highlights:
• Lead the continued growth and strategic vision of the Rush Heart Center for Women, across the Rush University System for Health, one of the first dedicated women’s heart programs in Chicago.
• Join Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges.
• Collaborate within a comprehensive and highly integrated cardiovascular program offering the full spectrum of advanced cardiac therapies, multidisciplinary specialty clinics, and innovative care models.
• Work alongside a collaborative team of experts across cardiology, cardiac surgery, electrophysiology, advanced cardiac imaging, heart failure, preventive cardiology, and cardiovascular research.
• Provide leadership in the advancement of women’s cardiovascular health, including prevention, diagnosis, treatment, education, and research initiatives focused on sex-specific cardiovascular disease.
• Support the continued expansion of programs addressing the unique cardiovascular needs of women, including cardio-obstetrics, menopause-related cardiovascular risk, microvascular disease, preventive cardiology, atypical presentations of ischemic heart disease, and SCAD.
• Help advance awareness and management of cardiovascular conditions that uniquely affect women, including differences in risk factors, symptom presentation, disease progression, and outcomes.
• Contribute to a nationally recognized program co-founded by Annabelle Volgman that has served as a leader in women’s cardiovascular care for more than two decades.
• Opportunities for program development, clinical research and clinical trials involvement, quality improvement initiatives, community outreach, and academic leadership.
• Participate in the education and mentorship of cardiovascular fellows, residents, and medical students within a strong academic environment.

Qualifications:
• Board certified in Cardiology, with an MD, DO, MD/PhD, DO/PhD, or equivalent.
• Qualified candidates must hold a faculty appointment at the Associate Professor level or, or possess credentials commensurate with appointment at that rank.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Summary:
Under the direction of the Supervisor Nuclear Medicine and with limited supervision, coordinates and performs a full range of Nuclear Medicine examinations, contributing to the efficient operation of the department. • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program. Associate degree preferred, certified in

Physical Demands:

Responsibilities:
• Receives and reviews requests for Nuclear Medicine Studies.
• Has the knowledge and ability to order radioisotopes needed to complete workflow for the day and in preparation for the next day’s schedule.
• Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
• Explains and prepares the patient for the procedure
• Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to ensure scans of diagnostic quality.
• Operates highly complex equipment within the department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality scans using the established protocols
• Maintains equipment and required logs within the department and hot lab, including quality control measures, within Nuclear Meicine, including daily camera QC, area surveys, and equipment QC
• Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to the supervisor and helps maintain equipment in proper working condition.
• Administers various radioisotopes to render specific organs or systems for scanning.
• Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
• Has working knowledge of clinical computer applications, as well as PACs and EPIC applications for patient orders, status changes, patient profiles, charges and imaging.
• Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders
• Able to work independently, document procedures in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and state/federal requirements.

Summary:
The Rush Memory Clinic is the clinical arm of the Rush Alzheimer’s disease center, one of 30 federally funded centers across the country. The Clinic has been in operation for several decades and, by continuously innovating, it offers state of the science clinical care to persons with memory complaints, dementia, and other thinking problems due to Alzheimer’s disease and other conditions. Services provided include diagnostic work up, and brain health recommendations through a detailed management plan. Summary:
The Phlebotomist obtains blood specimens from patients by the invasive procedure of venipuncture. 10. Administers RUMG approved intramuscular or subcutaneous medications after competency has been assessed, verified and documented.
11. Performs nebulizer treatments in the clinic setting after competency has been assessed, verified and documented.
12. Performs Tuberculin skin testing upon the order of the Physician.
13. Demonstrates appropriate population specific techniques with patients.
14. Documents administration of over-the-counter medications and/or other medications in Epic per policy or protocol.
15. Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations.
16. Calls patients regarding test results and medical instruction under the direction of a Physician.
17. Calls in medication refills under the direction of a Physician or protocol.
18. Documents patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
19. Assists with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
20. Assists in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
21. Maintains the inventory of medical and linen supplies.
22. Maintains quality control for equipment.
23. Provides cross coverage to other clinical areas as assigned.
24. Participates in quality improvement projects.
25. Maintains compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and other regulatory bodies.
26. May have Unit specific duties as needed.
