      Summary:

Mentors staff to cooperatively work with nursing and physicians to provide what is needed to care for patients effectively, efficiently and as quickly as possible Serves as an expert within the assigned field of responsibility. Instruct students, residents, and new employees. Evaluates their performance within established deadlines. Participates in presenting case studies or in-services.       Responsibilities:
      Administrative and Advanced Technical Duties
      •Functions as a department expert and performs as a bench testing personnel member along with the duties outlined below.
      •Sit and engage in interviews for applicants for open positions.
      •Establishes a detailed orientation and training program for new staff within their area of expertise
      •Held responsible for the complete and adequate training of new staff within their area of expertise
      •Stay engaged with new staff to determine knowledge gaps or struggles.
      •Monitors KPIs and TAT and initiates troubleshooting measures for respective areas when applicable
      •Mentor staff on continuous improvement of their performance and empowerment to make decisions with a patient focus.
      •Provides continuing education opportunities to augment staff competency.
      •Participates or initiates Quality Improvement initiatives. Gathers and analyzes data, then shares action plan for improvements. Responsible for changes within agreed upon timeline.
      •Responsible for completion and sign off of the initial training checklist, 6-month competency and annual competency of all technologist staff.

      •Attends organizational meetings and is engaged and participates in the discussion.
      •Makes certain that new or modified procedures are read and signed off within 30 days.

      •Reads and responds to emails in a timely fashion.
      •Is available to staff off-hours via phone, in person or electronically for technical related duties
      •Participates in test method selection for clinical testing.
      •Responsible to new test validation, including accuracy and precision.
      •Ensures participation in approved proficiency testing.
      •Establishes and maintains the necessary Quality Control and review, including establishing parameters for acceptable performance and performing necessary review of data to ensure quality testing. Ensuring that all values are reviewed by Lab Director before accepting.
      •Resolves technical issues as appropriate and teaches troubleshooting techniques to other staff. Keeps maintenance records up to date..
      •Undertakes the competency assessment of staff working in their area.

      Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of a Long-Term Acute Care Advanced Practice Provider. The new 100-bed facility is a combined critical illness recovery and inpatient rehabilitation hospital on the Rush University Medical Center campus. The RUSH Specialty Hospital is outfitted with the latest technology and features 44 critical illness recovery and 56 inpatient rehabilitation beds.

      Department/division specs

      · Work alongside three fellow LTACH APPs in collaboration with Rush University Hospitalists and Select Medical.

       

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      · 10-hour or 12-hour shifts. Days only including weekends.

      · Will report directly to the Hospital Medicine Lead Advanced Practice Provider

      · 100% inpatient

       

      Preferred Qualifications:

      · Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in Hospital Medicine, Critical Care or related specialty is preferred, not required. Relevant RN experience may be considered.

      · APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification.

      Position Requirements:

      Nurse Practitioner:

      • Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse or eligible to obtain a licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) application process

                    Requirements

                    • Bachelor’s degree in information science, computer science or related field.
                    • At least Five (5) years of data analysis, query design, and reporting experience.
                    • Experience with reporting solutions using Power BI, MS SQL Server, Azure, Advanced Analytics
                    • Experience with reports, dashboards, scorecards using Power BI and MDX in a data warehousing environment.
                    • Demonstrated experience in requirements gathering and using relational databases.
                    • Ability to perform detailed data analysis (i.e. determine the structure, content, and quality of the data through examination of source systems and data samples).
                    • Good visual aesthetic sense relative to report development and presentation to the user.
                    • Excellent written and verbal communication, facilitation, and customer facing skills
                    • Must have a strong customer service orientation and excellent organizational skills.
                    • Experience developing sophisticated reports against complex data sets.
                    • Ability to read other’s SQL queries and make changes/updates as necessary
                    • Experience with diagnosing and resolving errors in complex reports.

                    In this role, you’ll take ownership of day-to-day inventory management, including forecasting supply needs, replenishing surgical areas such as Endoscopy and OR suites, and ensuring the integrity of inventory through audits, cycle counts, and reporting.                     • Distributes surgical supplies to designated locations, inclusive of Q-Sight cabinets, Par Excellence locations, support rooms, sterile areas, and all appropriate areas within the Operating Room.
                    • Conducts inventory of Q-Sight & Par Excellence areas (including cycle count audits, monitoring expiring/at-risk inventory, and working through outstanding orders – providing substitute options when necessary). Restocks and returns unused product to assigned locations.
                    • Accountable for Q-Sight implant ordering, surgical device ordering and generating Q-Sight inventory management reports (implant/consignment serial number tracking, transactional data).
                    • Maintains audit schedule and reconfigures any assigned locations (par level adjustments and removals/additions of product)

                    • Receives, unpacks, and delivers supplies ordered from vendors. Reviews and verifies accuracy of shipments by counting and comparing packing lists with all receiving/delivery tickets for accuracy of receipt.
                    • Performs basic contract administration by following up on back-ordered supplies with surgical buyers and notification to appropriate service.
                    • Assists management personnel in the maintenance of predetermined par levels of supplies. Interacts with clinical staff and maintains environmental cleanliness and order in specific work areas.
                    • Participates in quality improvement processes and ensures that order placement and delivery dates meet clinical needs.
                    • Performs fiscal year end physical inventories. Assists in overseeing all the activities to assure the availability of necessary perioperative supplies as needed.

                    Required Job Qualifications:

                    • High school diploma /GED
