      Summary:

      Responsibilities:
      1. Responsibilities will include order verification, discharge counseling, projects, and education of other healthcare professionals

      11. Participates in SE (ADR and medication error) reporting programs.
      12. Complete clinical and operational activities as designated by the departmental management team (e.g. pyxis inventory optimization, relevant process improvement projects, etc.).
      13. Precept pharmacy students and residents (PGY1 and PGY2) as assigned in clinical and operational areas
      14. Provides patient-specific pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information to the medical and nursing staff.
      15. Assess and evaluates the medical and drug literature in order to compare and contrast therapeutic regimens and uses for new or existing drug treatments.
      16. Implement medication safety initiatives as determined by current departmental needs and ongoing projects.
      17. Develop operational and clinical projects as determined by current departmental needs and ongoing projects.
      18. Serves as a liaison with other departments for collaborative research activity.

This role will primarily practice at Rush's Outpatient Center in Munster, IN on a four-day, 10-hour schedule with no weekends, while also rotating at Rush’s main downtown Chicago location one day per week. This provider will function independently in their own clinic.

      *Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience preferred but not required. Preferred candidates have an interest in medical management of obesity and lifestyle medicine and have a strong background in internal medicine or managing chronic health conditions.

      The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws.       Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees.       Summary: The Cardiac Stress RN 2 provides supportive nursing throughout the Diagnostic Services suite of services and draws from past experiences to implement solutions for current situations.     Responsibilities:
    1. Assists the RN in the delivery of patient care.
    1.1 Reports to charge RN or designate for assignment of duties.
    1.2 Maintains a safe patient environment.
    1.3 Sets priority of duties based on needs of patient and unit, under the direction of the RN.
    1.4 Under the direction of the RN, participates in the implementation of individualized plans of care.

    1.11 Performs specific patient care procedures such as blood glucose testing, specimen collection, etc.
    1.12 Demonstrates knowledge of age specific variables and growth and development.
    1.13 Immediately reports changes in patient condition to the appropriate RN.
    2. Transports patients and (other) items as needed.
    2.1 Assists with admission, discharge, and transport of patients.
    2.2 Transports laboratory specimens and patient belongings as required.
    2.3 Obtains blood products, supplies and equipment as necessary.
    3. Competently utilizes technology.
    3.1 Demonstrates proficiency in the use of the telephone and patient call system(s).
    3.2 Demonstrates proficiency in the use of EPIC.
    3.3 Consistently documents in real time at the point of care.
    3.4 Demonstrates proficiency in the use of selected unit specific monitors, pumps, and other equipment.
    4. Maintains a safe and orderly, well equipped environment.
    4.1 Maintains a safe work environment: Keeps patient rooms and unit orderly, according to guidelines and unit routine.
    4.2 Independently orders, organizes, and restocks according to unit specifications.
    4.3 Replenishes patient room supplies.
    4.4 Maintains emergency supplies.
    5. Demonstrates a professional work style in interactions with internal and external customers.
    5.1 Communicates all pertinent information to the appropriate team member throughout the shift and to the oncoming shift.
    5.2 Negotiates break time and communicates departure and return time per unit protocol.
    5.3 Demonstrates initiative and self-direction in work habits.

    Summary: The Cardiac Stress RN 2 provides supportive nursing throughout the Diagnostic Services suite of services and draws from past experiences to implement solutions for current situations. The Cardiac Stress RN 2 is a competent nurse who has mastered technical skills and utilizes evidence-based interventions. The Cardiac Stress RN 2 collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary health care team as necessary to ensure safe, efficient care while upholding the Rush ICARE values of innovation, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence.

    Required Job Qualifications:
    -Minimum of 9 months of experience in nursing
    -Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) (with acceptance into an accredited school of nursing prior to hire). *Within 1 year from the date of hire, employee must be enrolled in a BSN program; RNs hired prior to 10/22/2020 are grandfathered in with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in nursing, with no further need to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BAN or BSN). Chief Nursing Officer must provide approval for any RNs with ADN degree hired after 10/22/2020, based upon unit need. ADN RNs hired after 10/22/2020 must show continued enrolment towards a BSN degree with a signature of contract stipulating a BSN degree must be completed within 3 years of hire. ADN RNS are not eligible for leveling to RN3.
    -At least two years of experience in a high-volume, high-acuity area such as Emergency, Critical Care, or Cardiology.
    -Current state of Illinois Registered Nursing License
    -Current CPR Certification
    -ACLS required within 3 months of hire
    -Proficiency in charge and preceptor roles.

    Responsibilities:
    Cardiac Stress RN position allows for Work-Life-Balance with DAY SHIFT hours, Monday through Friday, and occasional weekends. No call, and off most major holidays.

    Will provide nursing support throughout all Diagnostic Services, which is comprised of CT, MRI, Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound departments.

    Position reports to Diagnostic Cardiology RN Manager and Manager of Diagnostic Imaging /Cardiology, supports the Medical Director and Cardiology Fellows in daily operation of stress lab.

    Very fast-paced, dynamic environment. Prior Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Cardiology experience is beneficial.

    The Cardiac Stress RN works independently as well as collaboratively with physicians, nurses, technologists, patients, and family members. Excellent communication skills are essential.


    Competencies:

    -Demonstrates knowledge and basic troubleshooting of all equipment used in the stress testing lab, including: GE Case ECG hardware and treadmill, defibrillator, infusion pumps, blood pressure and cardiac monitors.
    -Demonstrates proficiency in EPIC, Muse, Merge, Word, Excel, and basic PC operation.

    Physical Demands:
    • Work requires the ability to walk throughout the medical center and to be standing and walking most of the designated shift.
    •Work requires lifting and carrying objects 35-40 lbs. and supporting and positioning patients, some of whom may exceed 300 lbs.
    •The ability to check documents for errors, use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data, and closely examine specimens, images or reports is required.
    •Work conditions include performing procedures where carelessness could result in injury or illness and/or contact with potentially infectious materials and/or strong chemical agents.
    • Ability to care for patients in the following age categories:
    o Toddlers (1-3 years) depending on cluster
    o Pre-Schoolers (3-5 years) depending on cluster
    o School Age (5-12 years) depending on cluster
    o Adolescents (12-18 years)
    o Young Adults (19-45 years)

    •o Older Adults (greater than 60)
    •• Able to operate computers, printers, copiers, fax, and medical equipment specific to department.
