      Summary:
      The RUMG Access Center Representative manages all clinical and non-clinical calls and performs clinic activities including routine and advanced scheduling, basic triage, message taking, radiology scheduling, and referral management. The RUMG Access Center Representative collaborates with Access Center team members and practice staff to meet overall access, revenue cycle and scheduling objectives while exceeding customers’ expectations.       Responsibilities:
      1. Answers all telephone calls for multiple practices over all service lines and radiology modalities with the accuracy rate of 90% or above scheduling patients within guidelines, taking messages utilizing templates and routing clinical inquires to appropriate RN pool, clinical or administrative pools and complete clean registration, with accuracy rate of 90% or above.
      2. Assists and understands at a high level multiple practices, multiple service lines scheduling guidelines and appointment scheduling.
      3. Researches and resolves complex inquires and complaints to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
      4. Identifying and promoting other practices or services patient may also need.
      5. Available for agents questions, inquires and first line of support for any and all service recovery.

      12. Exhibits mastery of specialized RUMG Access Center processes including but, not limited to: questionnaires, subgroups, auto search, pre-registration, message templates, and referral capture and insurance plan networks.
      13. Adheres to service specialized workflows for multiple specialty departments. Follows protocols built in Epic and documented practices scheduling requirements.
      14. Responsible for accurately documenting appointment information and notifying the patient of information critical to their visit.
      15. Drives and supports the RUMG revenue cycle by minimizing potential financial risk of patient accounts through patient insurance registration activities. This includes but is not limited to discussing the patient’s financial responsibility for their upcoming visit, outstanding balances, and referral requirements based on Rush contracts.
      16. Maintains a high level of understanding and acts as a patient resource for physician and ancillary service offerings, navigating the Rush campus, payment categories, and the billing procedures of Rush University Medical Group.
      17. Exhibits sensitivity to patient health information and protects confidentiality. Maintains privacy at all times for patient and employee information.
      18. Enhances the reputation of the RUMG Access Center by fostering ownership and personal responsibility for exceeding patient service expectations through accountability for actions and decisions setting a positive example to peers, coworkers, departments and patients.

      As part of a key strategic growth initiative, the Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program at Rush is expanding its behavioral and cognitive services. We are seeking a dedicated psychiatrist to join our highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team. You will work alongside our current movement disorder psychiatrists, two neuropsychologists, and eleven full-time movement disorders specialists to support our integrated mission of exceptional patient care, groundbreaking research, and clinical education.  

      This position is predominantly clinically focused, with built-in opportunities for research collaboration, faculty development, and educational initiatives within Rush Medical College.

      Criteria and Expectations 

      •Specialized Patient Care: Provide high-quality psychiatric care tailored to patients within the behavioral, cognitive, and movement disorders programs. The Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders Program represents the most stable program in the Chicagoland area, evaluating approximately 6,000 adult and pediatric patients annually across the full spectrum of movement disorders.

       •Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Maintain an active role in all-discipline team consultation meetings for the Huntington’s Disease Clinic. 

      •Education & Mentorship: Supervise and train psychiatry residents, fellows, and medical students who are integral parts of this robust academic program. 

      •Clinical Research: Engage in clinical research collaborations and contribute to the academic advancement of the department based on your areas of interest. 

      Qualifications & Requirements 

      •Education: Medical Degree (M.D. or D.O.) from an accredited institution.

       •Licensure: Licensed or eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois. 

      •Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.

       •Expertise: A strong commitment to clinical medicine, patient care, resident education, and research. Additional specialized expertise or fellowship training in neurological diseases, neuropsychiatry, or movement disorders is ideal. 

      •Academic Appointment: Candidates must meet at least the criteria for a faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level or higher within Rush Medical College.

This includes discussing the patient’s financial responsibility for their upcoming visit, outstanding balances, and referral requirements based on Rush contracts.
    13.Effectively completes point of service collections over the phone using secure payment processing systems via multiple payment options, such as credit/debit cards and/or payment plans.

The New Graduate RN Resident will participate in the residency program while completing their unit/department orientation. The RN Resident will attend a four-hour learning session each month that are paid sessions and attendance is required.
