The RUSH MD Anderson Cancer Center at Rush University Medical Center began offering screenings and services for patients at high risk of cancer in 2020. A risk screening tool was implemented in Breast Imaging, which began yielding referrals for patients in need of counseling when flagged at high risk. The High-Risk program also includes patients in active treatment or survivorship who want to understand if their initial cancer diagnosis places them at risk of future cancer diagnoses as well as multi-cancer early detection testing. The High-Risk program involves collaboration with Breast Imaging, Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Genetic Counselors and more.

•Provides services that may include but limited to: patient centered interviews, transitions in care screenings, identification of potential post discharge needs and the presentation of patient resource folder and documentation of findings.
•Facilitates communication with Case Manager and team: Supports processes related to care transitions including discharge central and/or unit/team centered provider referral communications. Meets customers' varied needs by readily providing support including, but not limited to, efaxing, faxing and copying forms.
•Ensures compliance with HIPPA and ROI regulations and protocols.
•Manages Medicare Important Message processes and related tasks.
•Works with CM and Patient Access to ensure hospital compliance with federal mandates.
•Coordinates post discharge care transition referral communication.
•In collaboration with the case manager, provides referral and follow-up contacts to agencies, facilities and patients/families to support safe, effective care transitions.
•Identifies issues, resolves when able, triages to the appropriate level and collaborates with case managers, senior case managers, nurses, physicians and general staff throughout the medical center to
resolve care transition issues.
•Provides designated support for functions including payer approval / certification communication, denial appeals, and / or level of care management processes.
•In accordance with the case management external faxing policy and HIPPA guidelines, communicates clinical information/PHI to payers to ensure certification of inpatient hospital stays via secure e-fax.
•Contacts payers to obtain or confirm fax and contact information for certification nurses.
•Follows protocols and HIPPA compliance regulations and proposes process improvements to managers when issues are identified.
•Follows protocol and reports known or suspected misdirected fax incidents to certification supervisor/manager. Provides level of care support services for certification, denial and/or preadmission LOC
management teams, including monitoring reports, paging/texting physicians, checking EPIC documentation and other assigned tasks.
•Conducts preadmission and post admission screening and interviews, provides patient/family education at scheduled classes and handles follow-up calls and communication with physician practice(s)
care team as warranted.

Anesthesiology Technologists are responsible for processing of reusable equipment for the cleaning and disinfection to manufacturer specification. They serve as an aid to the anesthesia providers during emergencies and ensure that all inventory/airway emergency supplies are stocked to the quantity and as outlined by policy. •High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or an equivalent combination of relevant education and training.
Responsibilities:
1.Must be knowledgeable of the JACHO and IDPH regulations as it applies to Anesthesia.
2.Immediately respond to emergency requests from anesthesia staff for additional supplies/equipment as required.
3.Must be knowledgeable of terminology of anesthesia supplies and procedures.
4.Assist in the preparation of the anesthesia site for all cases/procedures requiring anesthesia.
5.Responsible for cleanliness and disinfecting the equipment in the anesthesia administration sites including but not limited to the Pxyis, and C-cart and all reusable equipment.
6.Be familiar with the Medical Centers Safety Policies & Procedures.
7.Assists in the training/orientation of new hire employees.
8.Assist in recovering of equipment.
9.Be certified in the use of the EVOTEK.
10.Be responsible for the cleanliness of all airway equipment per hospital policy (i.e. Glidescopes, fiberoptic intubating scopes, etc).
11.Maintain Anesthesia sites with the same specificity as the operating room suites which include the following areas but not limited to: PICU, Endoscopy, MRI, Interventional Radiology, IVF, OB and adjacent labor delivery rooms.
12.Maintain inventory supplies in the prep recovery area in 5 atrium.
13.Check all Anesthesia sites/inventory daily for outdated stock.
14.Responsible for stocking OB, labor delivery rooms, Epidural bay room, and other supply sites.
15.Responsible for assembling central line/ A-line kits in accordance with the agreed protocol.
16.Set-up in preparation in the cardiac and neuro anesthesia sites.
17.Check code bags for used/outdated equipment/ supplies and maintain inventory according to protocol.
18.Remove and replace all used single patient care items immediately after each procedure/case.
19.Assist in the turnover of cases, but not limited to: disposal of all single use items, replacement of the anesthesia circuit, suction canister and tubing, yankauer, ECG leads. Wiping down anesthesia machine and Pyxis cart.
20.Monitor inventory supply/equipment levels throughout the day.
