Summary:

Nurse Practitioner:

Summary:

General Summary:
Under the guidance and direction of the unit director, the Assistant Unit Director RN (AUD) is the clinical liaison and assistant business manager of a specific patient care unit(s). In the absence of the unit director, the Assistant Unit Director RN is the RN Unit Director designee. The Assistant Unit Director Registered Nurse implements initiatives in support of the unit vision and manages human, operational and organizational systems that support patient care. Summary: The Cardiac Stress RN 2 provides supportive nursing throughout the Diagnostic Services suite of services and draws from past experiences to implement solutions for current situations. The Cardiac Stress RN 2 is a competent nurse who has mastered technical skills and utilizes evidence-based interventions. The Cardiac Stress RN 2 collaborates with members of the interdisciplinary health care team as necessary to ensure safe, efficient care while upholding the Rush ICARE values of innovation, collaboration, accountability, respect, and excellence.
Required Job Qualifications:
-Minimum of 9 months of experience in nursing
-Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate’s degree in nursing (ADN) (with acceptance into an accredited school of nursing prior to hire). *Within 1 year from the date of hire, employee must be enrolled in a BSN program; RNs hired prior to 10/22/2020 are grandfathered in with an Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) in nursing, with no further need to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BAN or BSN). Chief Nursing Officer must provide approval for any RNs with ADN degree hired after 10/22/2020, based upon unit need. ADN RNs hired after 10/22/2020 must show continued enrolment towards a BSN degree with a signature of contract stipulating a BSN degree must be completed within 3 years of hire. ADN RNS are not eligible for leveling to RN3.
-At least two years of experience in a high-volume, high-acuity area such as Emergency, Critical Care, or Cardiology.

Responsibilities:
Cardiac Stress RN position allows for Work-Life-Balance with DAY SHIFT hours, Monday through Friday, and occasional weekends. No call, and off most major holidays.
Will provide nursing support throughout all Diagnostic Services, which is comprised of CT, MRI, Echocardiography, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound departments.
Position reports to Diagnostic Cardiology RN Manager and Manager of Diagnostic Imaging /Cardiology, supports the Medical Director and Cardiology Fellows in daily operation of stress lab.
Very fast-paced, dynamic environment. Prior Emergency Department, Critical Care, or Cardiology experience is beneficial.
The Cardiac Stress RN works independently as well as collaboratively with physicians, nurses, technologists, patients, and family members. Excellent communication skills are essential.
Competencies:
-Demonstrates knowledge and basic troubleshooting of all equipment used in the stress testing lab, including: GE Case ECG hardware and treadmill, defibrillator, infusion pumps, blood pressure and cardiac monitors. Physical Demands:
• Work requires the ability to walk throughout the medical center and to be standing and walking most of the designated shift.
•Work requires lifting and carrying objects 35-40 lbs. and supporting and positioning patients, some of whom may exceed 300 lbs.
