      6.Upon decision of patient’s admission, has the knowledge and skill to perform the admission notification (NOA) process which is a required communication with the patient’s payer to ensure that the payment for patient’s inpatient stay is secured.
      7.Appropriately informs the patients of hospital policies that govern the revenue cycle. Minimizes the potential financial risk of patients accounts by discussing with the patient and/or guarantor their financial responsibility for upcoming visits/procedures, past due balances and referral requirements. Offers options and negotiates acceptable resolution of estimated patient balance.
      8.Receives and properly responds to, or directs telephone inquiries from patients, payers, physicians and their staff, internal department and other persons and entities.
      9..Ability to exercise good customer service skills when communicating with both our patients as well as our internal customers. Able to find resolution within the phone interaction satisfactory to the caller and/or having the knowledge when to escalate to their supervisor.
      10.Interacts and collaborates with numerous departments to resolve issues while also analyzing necessary information that will ensure hospital reimbursement.

    • In partnership with narcotic technicians and other members of the pharmacy management team, ensures security of controlled substances. 
    • Coordinates with the Pharmacy Buyers, medication and pharmacy supply inventory control and optimization. 
    • Participates in Pharmacy Manager Meetings, Drug Shortage Meetings, and the Central Operations 
    • Pharmacy Committee as well as other committees as assigned. 
    • Serves as a principal resource for clarification of pharmacy operational policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with relevant standards of practice as recommended by the Illinois Board of Pharmacy, the Joint Commission, DEA regulatory requirements and USP <795>, USP <797> and USP <800> regulatory standards. 
    • Supports pharmacy residency and experiential education programs. 
    • Participates in the on-call rotation for the pharmacy administrator on call. 
    • Staffs' pharmacist core roles in the Central Fill and Central IV areas as needed.

    Required Job Qualifications:

    • Active and in good standing State of Illinois licensure.
    • For out of state candidates, an existing license in home state in good standing and the ability to obtain an IL state license within 30-days of job offer.
    • Excellent clinical, written/verbal communication, precepting pharmacy learners, strong problem-solving skills, experience developing pharmacy services.
    • Completed PharmD.
    • Previous experience leading a multi-professional committee or workgroup.
    • Normal office, warehouse and clinical environments.
    • This is a full time •0 FTE position, First shift, Monday through Friday. The employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and must work 40.0 hours each week to maintain full time status. Employees need to be able to work extended hours due to business needs.
    • This position required up to 5% travel.

    Responsibilities:
    1. Administers, monitors, and weans mechanical ventilation; makes ventilator recommendations based on clinical assessment, technical assessment, and laboratory values; manages airways.
    2. Administers bronchial hygiene and treatment procedures including aerosol therapies, chest physical therapy, and therapeutic gas administration; analyzes gases where applicable; procures and delivers gases using central piping systems and gas cylinders.
    3. Assesses patients clinically before and after the administration or application of any medication, procedure or device; recommends appropriate therapy including initial therapy, changes in therapy, and discontinuance of therapy.
    4. Applies CPAP and BIPAP and makes recommendations based on patient compliance, response, and laboratory values.
    5. Participates in CQI and QA initiatives including work audits, abstracts, research, Daily Management System (DMS) projects, committee participation, or other activities to improve the clinical and work environments.
    6. Develops patient driven protocols in conjunction with department leadership. Documents work timely, completely, and accurately, including documentation in the patient medical record, documentation in the department records, and patient billing.
    7. Assesses patient oxygenation, ventilation, and hemodynamic status through clinical observation, patient assessment, physiologic monitoring including oximetry, capnography, ventilator waveform analysis, and cardiac output, ECG, and laboratory values; provides respiratory care interventions within the scope of the Rapid Response Team, performs CPR.
    8. Performs bedside spirometry including spontaneous breathing parameters, PEFR, and other limited pulmonary function; identifies normal values for patients.
    9. Provides patient/family education.
    10. Performs ECGs and arterial puncture.
    11. Participates in on-going maintenance of the blood gas equipment, QC, calibration and proficiency testing.
    12. Performs bronchoscopy assist.
    13. Provides clinical supervision of respiratory care students on rotation.
    14. Demonstrate initiative in optimizing patient care by participating in physician rounds and documenting assessment findings and therapy changes
    15. Demonstrate professionalism by belonging to the AARC/ISRC and/or pursuing education to advance ones skills
