      Emergency Medicine – Advanced Practice Provider

       Rush Oak Park Hospital

      Rush Oak Park Hospital, in Oak Park, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, invites application for the position of Advanced Practice Provider.  

      •With an annual volume of more than 47,000 patients, the Emergency Department is well-staffed with an average of 58 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours of mid-level provider coverage daily.

       •The newly built emergency room was opened in October 2019 has 22 private rooms, and 10 Fast Track treatment areas. 

      •Our affiliation with Rush University Medical Center allows for easy transfers of patients requiring tertiary care. Rush Oak Park Hospital is conveniently located 10 miles from downtown Chicago and in a desirable residential neighborhood. 

      •Schedule: this role will function on a rotating 10-hour schedule alongside twenty full-time Emergency Medicine Physicians and two fellow Advanced Practice Providers. Night shifts are not currently required but may be added as needed. Two weekends (four shifts) per four-week block are required. 

      Preferred Qualifications: 

      •APRN Candidates must have pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner certification 

      The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

      Position Requirements: 

      Nurse Practitioner: 

      •Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse 

      •Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position 

      •Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) 

      •Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license

      Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees.       Position Details

      • Rush Medical Group Primary Care offers health care for the entire family from acute illness to chronic medical issues. Our family medicine doctors see patients of all ages — from newborns to seniors.
      • 100% outpatient role with optional inpatient opportunities (if desired).
      • Clinic is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, closed on Sundays.
      • Desirable schedule of 36 patient facing hours per week with 1 evening shift until 7pm and 1 Saturday morning per month.
      • Call responsibility: Each physician takes call after hours one day per week. Weekend call is shared 1:5.

    1. Provides symptom managements utilizing guidelines/evidence based practice from oncology resources in collaboration with providers
    2.Performs role utilizing EBP within specialty established by nationally recognized oncology nursing associations, cancer societies and networks as well as published research and quality documents.

    The Emergency Department at the Rush Urgent Care Clinic – North & Harlem and the Rush Urgent Care Clinic – River North, associated with Rush University Medical Center of Chicago and Rush Oak Park Hospital, invites applications for the position of Urgent Care Lead Advanced Practice Provider. As part of an ongoing effort to support the local community, Rush is opening urgent care clinics to provide immediate access for a wide array of low- to moderate-acuity conditions and lower-cost care. The Emergency Department is committed to delivering excellent, patient-focused care in a collegial and cooperative atmosphere. Our affiliation with Rush University Medical Center and Rush Oak Park Hospital allows for easy transfers of patients requiring advanced care.

     •The Lead APP role will be 0. 85FTE clinical and 0.15FTE administrative and will supervise a team of approximately 8 APPs. Clinical effort will be split between both urgent care sites (North & Harlem and River North). 

    •In addition to clinical responsibilities, the Lead will be responsible for call scheduling, interviewing, evaluations, and recruitment.

     •Build a team of highly reliable, high-performing APP clinicians 

    •Provide leadership to APP staff 

    •Candidate must possess strong clinical skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills. 

    The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

    Position Requirements: 

    Nurse Practitioner:
