      Summary:

    Responsibilities:
    •Daily monitoring of a list of inpatient discharges, ER discharges, and referrals.
    •Provide outreach for all patients due for follow up and new patient appointments according to policy and procedures.
    •Prepare and deliver routine correspondence/medical records to referring agencies and primary care
    providers in accordance with policy.
    •Document all correspondence in electronic medical records as necessary.
    •Liaison to multiple departments, agencies and provider offices.
    •Participate in meetings as assigned.
    •Conduct outreach and complete assessments as necessary to identify individuals at risk for adverse health

    Summary:
    Manage daily surgical scheduling operations and staff for surgical clinics. Drive efficient workflows and exceptional customer service aligned with organizational targets. Partner directly with physicians, revenue cycle leadership, periop and clinic operations leaders to effectively manage scheduling requests and prior authorizations. Direct reports include procedure/surgery schedulers.

    Job Responsibilities:
    •Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and Compliance policies and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    •Oversees the day-to-day operations of the surgery scheduling area by monitoring the daily schedules to meet the physician’s requested blocks and surgical times; works directly with the surgical care team for accurate schedules for inpatient/outpatient services.
    •Ensures surgical data entered for the case, patient and required resources is accurate and following the physician’s request.
    •Ensures all surgical requests made by physicians/office staff, electronically or verbally, are completed daily to meet their and patient’s expectations.
    •Exercises complex problem-solving techniques, collection/data entry, and evaluation and reporting of statistical concepts, defining problems, establishing facts and draws valid conclusions.
    •Oversees customer communication, positive or negative, by means of receiving calls, meeting with customers, data input, written/verbal communication, problem delegation/resolution, process improvement, statistical reporting and presentation.
    •Maintains a positive working relationship with physician’s offices and ancillary departments and communicates and consults with leadership as it relates to improving customer satisfaction.
    •Ensures all required authorization/pre-certification have been accurately collected along with the CPT and ICD
    •Monitors prior authorization work queues and partners with preadmission leadership team on process improvement
    •Assists leadership with adherence to the departmental budget.
    •Conducts quarterly staff meetings to provide feedback on unit operations, discuss problematic issues and introduce new procedures and/or regulations; provides for regular and ongoing staff training as needed by individual staff and on a routine and ongoing basis to ensure optimal skill levels and current knowledge base for all employees.
    •Develops work schedules proficiently, changes in staffing roles and work assignments based on department needs; revises schedule to always ensure effective coverage, including working within department due to staffing shortage; enforces policies and procedures maintaining RUSH iCare values; participates in the interview and hiring process to ensure adequate staffing.
    •Supervises staff in fair and effective manner and assists with performing timely evaluations, initiating appropriate coaching/counseling and mechanisms to ensure competent staff.
