      Summary:
      The Pharmacy Technician 1 assists licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy performing duties such as preparing, filling, and labeling medications for patients in the Medical Center. As patient care assignments dictate, the technician I is responsive to the explicit need of neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. When relevant, appropriate standards of practice and sensitivity to the psychosocial needs of these patient populations are exercised.       Summary:

      Summary:
      The RUSH Access Center Specialist I manages all clinical and non-clinical calls and performs clinic activities including routine and advanced scheduling, basic triage, message taking, and referral management. The RUSH Access Center Specialist I collaborates with Access Center team members and practice staff to meet overall access, revenue cycle and scheduling objectives while exceeding customers’ expectations.       Summary:

          Summary:

          The clinical resource coordinator 1 (CRC 1) position applies a collaborative approach in working with pharmacists, patients, medical providers, payers and internal/external agencies to provide case management support services related to individual patients’ medication needs. CRC 1 activities and processes include referral screening, patient interviews, completion of medication access processes (e.g., prior authorizations, financial assistance programs), follow-up calls, and working within prescription processing software. CRC 1 services may be coordinated centrally through the pharmacy department or assigned by unit, physician practice, or service line.           • Valid State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician license required
          • High School diploma and minimum 1 to 2 years’ experience required.

          • Maintains CE hours required to retain CPhT certification. Obtain certification within 1 year of starting if not certified prior to starting.

            INTRAVENOUS LINE INSERTION/PHLEBOTOMY·
            •Demonstrates competency to insert peripheral intravenous lines (PIV) and applies dressing in compliance with hospital procedure.
            •Demonstrates basic understanding of procedure to be performed ensuring proper placement of PIV line to not interfere with planned procedure.
            •Provides instruction/information to patient/significant other concerning placement of IV line/care being provided. Assists in emergency situations as needed.
            •Performs phlebotomy as assigned.
            •Demonstrates competency in the use of select unit specific monitors, pumps, and other equipment.
            MAINTANENCE OF HEMOSTASIS
            •Monitors arterial puncture sites on a continuous basis for any signs of unusual bleeding, reports all unexpected bleeding or changes to the site to responsible Registered Nurse.
            •Performs appropriate actions as identified in Standard of Care for Arterial Puncture sites (to be developed).
            •Recognizes signs of possible hematoma formation.
            •Responsible for providing pressure or devices as ordered by Registered Nurse or responsible MD to arterial puncture site.
            UNIT RESPONSIBILITIES
            •Checks refrigerator/freezer temperatures and documents on appropriate log, notify nursing management of any temperature discrepancies.
            •Notify MCE when defrosting of refrigerators is needed (notify Operating Room Education and Quality Coordinator. Notify Charge Nurse of any environmental or safety hazard, which are unresolved and additional assistance, is needed. Monitor procedural areas for clutter, hallway obstructions and misplaced equipment and supplies.
            •Pick-up and deliver required items as requested.
            •Responsible for the maintaining inventory, restocking supplies with supply Chain staff and identifying items needed for reorder.
            •Maintains a safe work environment: Keeps patient rooms and unit orderly according to guidelines and unit routine. Independently orders, organizes, and restocks assigned areas according to unit specifications.
            •Maintains emergency supplies.
            •Maintains a safe patient environment.
