Summary:
The Financial Analyst has oversight of the financial health of the Rush University Scholarship Portfolio for all three colleges and Academic Support. The Financial Analyst will routinely meet with collegiate leadership to provide financial guidance on available funds in the portfolio and meet routinely with admissions and financial aid offers on disbursement of funds. The Financial Analyst collaborates staff within the colleges to ensure accurate, complete, and consistent reporting of all scholarship financials to the CFBO, Deans, Provost, President of Rush University. Responsibilities:
• Maintains a detailed understanding of all scholarship endowments, donor gifts, grants, and internal sources (employee benefits and internal scholarship funding sources).
• Reviews all relevant financials, projections, and budgets for the above funds with the CFBO, Directors of Finance in each college, and Financial Aid on a monthly basis.
• Generates detailed internal budgets per program for scholarship disbursements and reconciles with Financial Aid to ensure accuracy.
• Reviews all initial and amended budgets submitted by the colleges when new funding becomes available.
• Reviews an application for grant funding for scholarship. • Works closely with Principal Investigators to ensure funding for all PhD students in laboratories.
• Works closely with Philanthropy to identify funds for scholarships as they come available.
• Communicates effectively and serves as a subject matter expert on scholarship financial management.
• Maintains a database of all budgets and provides status reports as required.
• Acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.
Required Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree.
•Three years of experience in higher education financial analysis/accounting function.
•Experience in clinical research budgeting and negotiations for industry sponsored research.
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Demonstrated resourcefulness and attention to detail.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience.

The Financial Analyst has oversight of the financial health of the Rush University Scholarship Portfolio for all three colleges and Academic Support. The Student Administrative Project Assistant will be responsible for supporting projects to improve medical center performance: planning, implementation and management of strategic initiatives and evaluation of their effectiveness. This includes, but is not limited to, improvement of patient experience results across all customer groups in the Medical Center. This role will provide exposure to operational and clinical issues at Rush across multiple departments, therefore the ideal candidate will be motivated, organized, and driven to improve processes and outcomes. - Bachelor's degree required.
• Currently enrolled as a student in Rush University's College of Health Sciences
• General knowledge of organizations, specifically health care organizations; medical terminology, and qualitative and quantitative data analysis.

Responsibilities:
1.Performs administrative functions such as scheduling meetings, drafting meeting minutes, monitoring project timelines and work deliverables.
2.Conducts library and computer searches on clinical and administrative topics.
3.Collects and analyzes data related to clinical outcomes.
4.Collects and analyzes data related to program performance.
5.Conducts statistical analyses using a variety of software packages.
6.Assists with implementation of clinical projects.
7.Rotates with health care professionals to gain hands-on clinical experience.
8.Assists with the design and implementation of process improvement initiatives.
9.Assists with program evaluation.
10.Prepares written and oral reports and presentations that communicate necessary information.
11.Performs related duties as assigned.
