      Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Inpatient and Outpatient care at our downtown campus and Rush Copley Medical Center
      • Clinical care will include intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring, mapping of cortical function, bedside long term EEG monitoring, routine EEG and video EEG monitoring
      • Teaching medical students, Pediatric residents, Neurology residents at Rush University Medical Center

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Epilepsy or Neurophysiology
      • Fellowship training in Pediatric Neurophysiology and preferred training in epilepsy.

      • Has the knowledge and ability to order radioisotopes needed to complete workflow for the day and in preparation for the next day’s schedule.
      • Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.

      • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to ensure scans of diagnostic quality.

      • Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
      • Has working knowledge of clinical computer applications, as well as PACs and EPIC applications for patient orders, status changes, patient profiles, charges and imaging.
      • Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders

        • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program. Associate degree preferred, certified in

        Physical Demands:

        Responsibilities:
        • Receives and reviews requests for Nuclear Medicine Studies.
        • Has the knowledge and ability to order radioisotopes needed to complete workflow for the day and in preparation for the next day’s schedule.
        • Accepts patients and assesses their condition to determine proper handling and special requirements.
        • Explains and prepares the patient for the procedure
        • Relies on extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology and effects of disease process to ensure scans of diagnostic quality.
        • Operates highly complex equipment within the department, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality scans using the established protocols
        • Maintains equipment and required logs within the department and hot lab, including quality control measures, within Nuclear Meicine, including daily camera QC, area surveys, and equipment QC
        • Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to the supervisor and helps maintain equipment in proper working condition.
        • Administers various radioisotopes to render specific organs or systems for scanning.
        • Possesses and utilizes proper aseptic technique and isolation procedures when appropriate.
        • Has working knowledge of clinical computer applications, as well as PACs and EPIC applications for patient orders, status changes, patient profiles, charges and imaging.
        • Demonstrates the ability to organize patient care and set priorities by providing critical care first and by implementing the physician’s orders
        • Able to work independently, document procedures in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and state/federal requirements.

This position will be primarily based at the Autism Assessment, Research, Treatment and Services (AARTS) Center, with a portion of time at Rush Behavioral Medicine’s West Campus. Qualified candidates will be a Physician who has completed a Child Psychiatry fellowship. Experience working with neurodevelopmental disorders (NDD) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) populations and/or clinical research experience is preferred.

          The AARTS Center is the region’s only comprehensive, lifespan autism center and is dedicated to addressing the unmet needs of individuals with neurodevelopmental differences and their families.

          This position is focused on direct patient care for individuals with neurodevelopmental differences across the lifespan, including specialized diagnostic evaluations and psychopharmacological treatment. The faculty member will also supervise trainees in clinical settings and be part of the core faculty for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training program.

          The successful candidate would be encouraged to participate in research projects, local and national organized medicine, community education, as well as academic presentations of clinical and research related work.           Duties & Responsibilities:

          • Schedule: 32 clinic hours a week with between 8 and 16 patients per clinic session
          • Call is currently 1:4 a week at a time
          • Inpatient rounding/consults average to approximately 3 patients per day

          • Provide care for conditions such as epilepsy, idiopathic intracranial hypertension, and peripheral neuropathy
