Summary:

The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or certified advanced practice nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush University Medical Center patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the RUMC medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush University Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

Responsibilities:

Clinical

• Completes and documents an accurate history and physical examination of patients.

• Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develops patient care plans

• Orders and interprets tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice

• Prescribes medications, including controlled substances to the extent delegated including non-pharmacologic treatment modalities

• Orders, interprets, and performs laboratory and other diagnostic tests and procedures.

• Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant Licensure.

• Current Certification from National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

• Degree from an ARC-PA (or predecessor) accredited PA Program.

Advanced Practice Provider - Emergency Medicine (CDU)

Rush University Medical Center presents an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Emergency Medicine as a Hospitalist managing patients in the ED.

The Rush University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine and Division of Hospital Medicine jointly seek multiple Advanced Practice Providers (APP) who are boarded-certified and trained to manage the care of adult patients waiting to be admitted to inpatient units. This role will assume primary responsibility for multiple patients at any given time. The main responsibilities include the monitoring of patient status, managing medications, ordering additional tests, reviewing results and managing consults. Based upon the workload, you may be asked to assist with management of low acuity patients. The APP will help emergency medicine and hospital medicine continue their strong, collaborative relationship through joint-appointments, functional cross-training, periodic interdepartmental shift assignments, and engagement on multi-specialty process improvement activities. There are 44 attending physicians, 36 residents, 4 fellows and 10 APPs on the Emergency Medicine / Hospital Medicine team.

*Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience required.

Job Qualifications:

Nurse Practitioner Requirements: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure required. Minimum of six months of clinical practice as an RN required. Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing required. Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program. Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body required. APRN candidates must be acute care certified - Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP). Must be able to independently treat ESI levels: 2, 3, 4 & 5. BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification preferred Minimum of 3 years acute care APP experience required.

Physician Assistant Requirements: Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant licensure required. Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Studies training program required; Master's degree preferred. · The Esophageal Program Director will lead Rush in becoming a Center of Excellence for esophageal motility disorders and maintaining esophageal health.

Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role, as well as additional compensation such as sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

Pay Range: $385,000 - $500,000

Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, located in downtown Chicago, invites applications for the position of Gastroenterology Clinical Faculty – Small Bowel Center of Excellence Lead.

Centers of Excellence: We are looking for leaders that are highly subspecialized in Gastroenterology, specifically in Small Bowel, to lead our new Centers of Excellence as the Chicago, IL market and community are in need of more specialization and Rush is paving the way. Academic appointments will be in the College of Medicine of Rush University. Our academic medical center is part of a large system focused on patient care, teaching, and research. More specifically, the Section of Gastroenterology is part of the Digestive Diseases Service Line which integrates clinical care, teaching, and research efforts to advance the subspecialty. The faculty are part of an integrated team of clinicians and researchers who also collaborate with allergy/immunology (GI/adverse reactions to food clinic), colorectal surgery and oncology (a comprehensive clinic for gastrointestinal cancers), bariatric surgery, ENT, pathology, and neurology.
