      Summary:
      The Clinical Manager, RN, under the leadership of both the Director of Operations and Medical Director, will be responsible for the ongoing clinical and operational functionality of the practice (operations, workflows, quality and patient experience).       11.Identify trends, and underlying issues and institutes resolutions.
      12.Motivates staff to perform at their highest level and effectively holds staff accountable for delivery of high quality services including patient care, access and satisfaction.
      13.Hires strong talent with appropriate competencies and skill mix.
      14.Ensures appropriate staffing in all areas including providing staff training, competency development, orientation and recognition.
      15.Direct reports include clinical, lead/charge staff and other non-physician staff.
      16.Monitors staff and physician satisfaction and makes recommendations to improve work culture as necessary.
      17.Maintain regular, two-way communication with staff to support their achievement of strong performance in support of the practice goals, supports their personal developmental goals and concerns and builds an understanding of Rush and the practice.
      18.Responsible for achievement of all compliance, regulatory, joint commission, ECOG/UNOS/OSHA adherence and other regulatory body requirements.
      19.Must understand and effectively use EPIC, all systems and software databases to achieve goals.
      20.Maintains effective, collaborative working relationships with other RUMG departments and related practices for best practices, workflow, policy and process feedback.
      21.Representative on RUMG committees or cross-departmental team to design and implement common standards.
      22.Manage availability of resources/supplies.
      23.Monitors patterns in purchasing supplies and ensures timely processing of payments and invoices.
      24.Serves as a role model whose attitudes and actions support Practice leadership and goals.
      25.Acts as a role model and champion for ICARE and employee engagement as well as the patient centered/patient first care model.

      Rush University Medical Center presents an exciting opportunity for an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Emergency Medicine as a Hospitalist managing patients in the ED.

      The Rush University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine and Division of Hospital Medicine jointly seek multiple Advanced Practice Providers (APP) who are boarded-certified and trained to manage the care of adult patients waiting to be admitted to inpatient units. This role will assume primary responsibility for multiple patients at any given time. The main responsibilities include the monitoring of patient status, managing medications, ordering additional tests, reviewing results and managing consults. Based upon the workload, you may be asked to assist with management of low acuity patients. The APP will help emergency medicine and hospital medicine continue their strong, collaborative relationship through joint-appointments, functional cross-training, periodic interdepartmental shift assignments, and engagement on multi-specialty process improvement activities. There are 44 attending physicians, 36 residents, 4 fellows and 10 APPs on the Emergency Medicine / Hospital Medicine team.

      *Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience required.

      Job Highlights: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush University Medical Center patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the RUMC medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush University Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

      Rush has over 400 APPs across the enterprise that provide comprehensive patient care each day autonomously and in collaboration with other members of the health care team. With 2 Directors of Advanced Practice and 27 Lead APPs across the system, Rush's vision is to have every APP practicing at full scope and top of license. APPs at Rush are highly competent, well respected members of the healthcare team that contribute to the excellent quality care that Rush patients receive each day.

      Job Responsibilities: Management of ED Clinical Decision Unit patients. Completes and documents an accurate patient history and physical examinations. Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develops patient care plans. Orders and interprets tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice. Prescribe medication, including controlled substances as delegated in collaborative practice agreement. Orders, interprets, and performs laboratory and other diagnostic tests and procedures. Reviewing and initiating requisite consults. Provides clear, concise, and accurate information in the electronic medical record. Demonstrate advanced critical thinking in the care and management of patients. Initiate and perform consultations in accordance with Rush rules and regulations. Make appropriate referrals to other health care professionals and/or agencies. Provides direct patient care in assigned areas, which may be in a hospital or ambulatory setting. Rotates shifts including nights/weekends. Moonlighting opportunities in the ER, with hospital medicine, telemedicine via the OnDemand service may be available. Collaborates with ED/Hospitalist physicians when appropriate on patient management.

      Job Qualifications:

      Nurse Practitioner Requirements: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure required. Minimum of six months of clinical practice as an RN required. Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing required. Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program. Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body required. APRN candidates must be acute care certified - Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP). Must be able to independently treat ESI levels: 2, 3, 4 & 5. BLS and ACLS certification required; PALS certification preferred Minimum of 3 years acute care APP experience required.

      Physician Assistant Requirements: Current State of Illinois Physician Assistant licensure required. Degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Studies training program required; Master's degree preferred. Current certification from National Certification Commission for Physician Assistants (NCCPA) required. Must be able to independently treat ESI levels: 2, 3, 4 & 5. BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required: Minimum of 3 years acute care APP experience required.

      Skills/Abilities: Demonstrates competency in all areas of APRN or PA practice including: medical knowledge, interpersonal and communication skills, patient care, professionalism, practice based learning and improvement, and systems based practice. Academic appointments will be in the College of Medicine at Rush University.  

      · The Esophageal Program Director oversees clinical and managerial leadership, as well as the strategic development of the Motility GI program. The Director collaborates with the Chief, Executive Director, and Rush Medical Group entities to improve system-wide efficiencies.

      · The Esophageal Program Director will lead Rush in becoming a Center of Excellence for esophageal motility disorders and maintaining esophageal health.

      · Our team uses advanced technology to diagnose and treat esophageal diseases. Gastroenterology specialists collaborate with other experts to provide personalized care. The Esophageal Motility team refers esophageal cancer patients to the Lung Service Line as needed.

      · Faculty members within the service line collaborate extensively with teams in Hepatology, Oncology, and Transplant Medicine, promoting a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

              The Rush University Medical Center Department of Emergency Medicine and Division of Hospital Medicine jointly seek multiple Advanced Practice Providers (APP) who are boarded-certified and trained to manage the care of adult patients waiting to be admitted to inpatient units. This role will assume primary responsibility for multiple patients at any given time. The main responsibilities include the monitoring of patient status, managing medications, ordering additional tests, reviewing results and managing consults. Based upon the workload, you may be asked to assist with management of low acuity patients. The APP will help emergency medicine and hospital medicine continue their strong, collaborative relationship through joint-appointments, functional cross-training, periodic interdepartmental shift assignments, and engagement on multi-specialty process improvement activities. There are 44 attending physicians, 36 residents, 4 fellows and 10 APPs on the Emergency Medicine / Hospital Medicine team.

              *Previous Advanced Practice Provider experience required.

              Job Highlights: The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush University Medical Center patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the RUMC medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.               Job Responsibilities: Management of ED Clinical Decision Unit patients. Completes and documents an accurate patient history and physical examinations. Conducts comprehensive or episodic health assessments and develops patient care plans. Orders and interprets tests, treatments, and therapies within the scope of practice. Prescribe medication, including controlled substances as delegated in collaborative practice agreement. Orders, interprets, and performs laboratory and other diagnostic tests and procedures. Reviewing and initiating requisite consults. Provides clear, concise, and accurate information in the electronic medical record.               Job Qualifications:

              Nurse Practitioner Requirements: Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure required. Minimum of six months of clinical practice as an RN required. Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing required. Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner educational program. Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body required. APRN candidates must be acute care certified - Nurse Practitioner Certification from a National certifying body as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP).                 · Faculty members within the service line collaborate extensively with teams in Hepatology, Oncology, and Transplant Medicine, promoting a comprehensive multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

                  Qualified candidates must possess a strong commitment to patient care, resident education, and research. Candidates must be board certified/eligible in both transplant hepatology as well as gastroenterology and be eligible for faculty appointment at the assistant professor level or above. Candidates should have experience in clinical hepatology and liver transplantation, along with a strong interest and successful track record in establishing referring provider relationships for liver transplant and have a deep desire and proven expertise in growth strategies for Liver Transplant programs. An interest or experience in alcohol use disease order is also a plus. Rush was one of the first ten liver transplant centers in the United States, starting in the 1980s. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, specialty; relevant experience and training; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Additional compensation may include premium pay rates, sign-on bonuses, and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

                      Pay Range: $250,000 - $350,000
