      Emergency Medicine – Advanced Practice Provider

      Rush Oak Park Hospital, in Oak Park, Illinois, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, invites application for the position of Advanced Practice Provider.  

      •With an annual volume of more than 47,000 patients, the Emergency Department is well-staffed with an average of 58 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours of mid-level provider coverage daily.

       •The newly built emergency room was opened in October 2019 has 22 private rooms, and 10 Fast Track treatment areas. 

      •Our affiliation with Rush University Medical Center allows for easy transfers of patients requiring tertiary care. Rush Oak Park Hospital is conveniently located 10 miles from downtown Chicago and in a desirable residential neighborhood. 

      •Schedule: this role will function on a rotating 10-hour schedule alongside twenty full-time Emergency Medicine Physicians and two fellow Advanced Practice Providers. Night shifts are not currently required but may be added as needed. Two weekends (four shifts) per four-week block are required. 

      Preferred Qualifications: 

      •APRN Candidates must have pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner certification 

      The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

      Position Requirements: 

      Nurse Practitioner: 

      •Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse 

      •Master of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position 

      •Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP) 

      •Maintains State of Illinois and Federal DEA license

      Position Details

      • Rush Medical Group Primary Care offers health care for the entire family from acute illness to chronic medical issues. Our family medicine doctors see patients of all ages — from newborns to seniors.
      • 100% outpatient role with optional inpatient opportunities (if desired).
      • Clinic is open Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 7:00 pm, Saturday, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm, closed on Sundays.
      • Desirable schedule of 36 patient facing hours per week with 1 evening shift until 7pm and 1 Saturday morning per month.
      • Call responsibility: Each physician takes call after hours one day per week. Weekend call is shared 1:5.
      • The practice provides comprehensive primary care in a supportive environment with established systems and a team of 4.25 Family Medicine physicians.
      • This is a full-time position offering a balanced patient schedule of estimated 15-20 patients per day with an even mix of pediatric and adult patients.

      Key Responsibilities:

      • Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics through geriatrics

                  The Department of Internal Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a Primary Care Physician to join our outpatient clinic located at Rush River North.

                  Department Specifics:

                  • · Rush River North at 539 N. Dearborn Street is located in the heart of downtown Chicago with numerous great restaurants, art galleries and nightlife.
                  • The clinic is 10,000-square-foot ground-floor space providing Primary care, urgent care, OB-GYN, cardiology, dermatology, gastroenterology, physical medicine and rehabilitation, urology and hepatology — all available in one location.
                  • Our Primary Care team includes 5 faculty physicians, 1 Advanced Practice Provider, dedicated Medical Assistants and nursing staff.
                  • The Division of General Internal Medicine at Rush is growing with more than 50 faculty members active in a variety of professional activities, including research, medical education, advocacy, leadership, and quality improvement work. We are constantly expanding our academic, educational, and clinical footprint and eagerly collaborate within and outside of Rush Medical College.

                  Duties & Responsibilities:

                  • Provide comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages and stages of health, including prevention, patient education, chronic disease self-management and acute medical care
                  • Involvement with teaching medical students and residents.

                  Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. The total pay range shown reflects the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, knowledge and skills; relevant experience and training; education, certifications, and licensure; primary work location; and other business and organizational factors. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role. Opportunities for increased compensation based on exceeding productivity targets. Additional compensation may include sign-on and retention bonuses and relocation allowances. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.

                  Pay Range: $245,000 - $329,000

                    Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Gastroenterology Faculty in the Division of Digestive Diseases & Nutrition’s Section of Gastroenterology.  

                    • This position will have shared practice locations at Rush University Medical Center in downtown Chicago and Rush Oak Park Hospital in Oak Park, Illinois.
                    • We are looking for applicants at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank with an interest in general gastroenterology. Academic appointments will be in the College of Medicine of Rush University. 
                    • The Section of Gastroenterology is part of the Digestive Diseases Service Line which integrates clinical care, teaching, and research efforts to advance the subspecialty. 
                    • The faculty are part of an integrated team of clinicians and researchers who also collaborate with allergy/immunology (GI/adverse reactions to food clinic), colorectal surgery and oncology (a comprehensive clinic for gastrointestinal cancers), bariatric surgery, ENT, pathology, and neurology.
