      Pay Range:  $275,000 - $325,000 per year

      Summary:
      The Vice President, Nursing Operations and Patient Care Services will serve as an executive-level partner to the Senior Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer. This role will aid in the establishment and execution of strategic goals and priorities as well as oversight of key business drivers, service-line leaders, performance metrics, and operating components. The Vice President’s scope will include oversight over inpatient units and additional areas of nursing oversight at the RUMC campus. The individual in this role will exemplify the Rush mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

      •Collaborate with key quality committees to lead the development, monitoring, and reporting of key quality metrics and policies to ensure high standards of patient care.
      •Partner with the patient experience team and nursing leaders to lead the development and execution of strategies to improve patient experience.
      •Ensure ongoing clinical compliance and readiness with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements.
      •Fosters a performance and safety culture based upon the principles of high reliability.
      Growth & Collaboration:
      •Develop collaborative relationships with national, community, nursing, clinical, and professional organizations.
      •Establish and maintain a strong partnership with the university to create a pipeline for hiring and retaining new nursing graduates. Develop and implement programs that support the transition of new graduates into the Rush system, including mentorship, residency
      programs, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
      •Partner with hospitals and clinics across the Rush system to ensure operational nursing alignment.
      •Support organizational goals, standards, and business strategies.
      •Engage with key stakeholders, including patients, families, staff, and community partners, to gather insights and feedback that inform strategic decisions and improve patient care.

      Other information:

      Qualifications:
      • Master’s degree in nursing or related field required.
      • Minimum fifteen (15) years of experience in a hospital or academic medical center, with a minimum of seven (7) years of documented leadership experience with progressive responsibility.
      • National certification is required within 12 months of hire and/or promotion.
      • Preferred: Earned doctorate, FACHE certification, Professional in Project Management certification (PMP), Lean Six Sigma Green or Black belt.
      • Current and active Illinois nursing license (in good standing) required, or eligibility to obtain an Illinois nursing license within a specified timeframe upon hire.

      Duties & Responsibilities: 

      • Inpatient clinical care at Rush University Medical Center downtown campus and Outpatient clinic hours in Lisle and at Rush Copley Medical Center, Aurora, Illinois. 

      • Patients will include surgical urology patients with an emphasis on the care of prostate cancer patients 

      • Perform advanced minimally invasive and robotic procedures using state-of-the art technology (with both DaVinci XI and SP)

        Preferred Qualifications:   3+ years of APP experience in Urgent Care/Primary Care/Emergency Department settings. 

        The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care. The individual who holds this position will exemplify the Rush mission, vision and values and act in accordance with the policies, procedures, guidelines of Rush, including the Rush Medical Group Customer Service standards. Successful candidates will also meet all other state and federal regulatory practice and accreditation standards.

        Position Requirements: 

        Nurse Practitioner: 

        •Current licensure from the State of Illinois as a Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse 

        •Masters of Science in Nursing or Doctorate of Nursing practice with clinical specialty appropriate to position. 

        •Current certification by American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner (AANP).

                            •With an annual volume of more than 47,000 patients, the Emergency Department is well-staffed with an average of 58 hours of physician coverage and 40 hours of mid-level provider coverage daily.

                             •The newly built emergency room was opened in October 2019 has 22 private rooms, and 10 Fast Track treatment areas. 

                            •Our affiliation with Rush University Medical Center allows for easy transfers of patients requiring tertiary care. Rush Oak Park Hospital is conveniently located 10 miles from downtown Chicago and in a desirable residential neighborhood. 

                            •Schedule: this role will function on a rotating 10-hour schedule alongside twenty full-time Emergency Medicine Physicians and two fellow Advanced Practice Providers. Night shifts are not currently required but may be added as needed. Two weekends (four shifts) per four-week block are required. 

                            Preferred Qualifications: 

                            •APRN Candidates must have pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner certification 

                            The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is a licensed physician assistant (PA) or advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) who functions as a member of the health care team to provide high quality, comprehensive acute and/or routine medical/surgical care of Rush patients within the scope of practice granted in accordance with the Rush University Medical Center medical staff bylaws. The APP will promote collaboration between multiple disciplines to ensure cost effective and quality patient care.
