      Summary:
      Job Summary:
      Responsible for assisting providers and registered nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. Assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing. Will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, small volume nebulizer treatment, over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician. In addition, this role is responsible for facilitating the needs of outreach sites and serving as a liaison from outreach clinics.       16.Documents patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
      17.Assists with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
      18.Assists in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
      19.Maintains the inventory of medical and linen supplies.
      20.Maintains quality control for equipment.
      21.Provides cross coverage to other clinical areas as assigned.
      22.Participates in quality improvement projects.
      23.Maintains compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and other regulatory bodies.

      31.Share knowledge and education to empower patients and improve their ability to navigate services and systems

      The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join our faculty. This position involves a combination of clinical service delivery, scholarly activity, and educational responsibilities focused on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders in older adults. The ideal candidate will be committed to advancing patient care, medical education, and research within the field.

      Clinical Care:

       •Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and management for patients aged 65 and older across various settings, including, outpatient clinics, and consultation-liaison services within the hospital. 

      •Diagnose and treat complex conditions such as major neurocognitive disorders (dementia), mood disorders (e.g., geriatric depression), anxiety disorders, and psychosis in the context of advanced age and medical comorbidities. 

      •Collaborate closely with neurologists, geriatricians, primary care providers, and neuropsychologists to develop integrated care plans. 

      Education and Teaching: 

      •Actively participate in the teaching of medical students, and psychiatry residents. 

      •Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical supervision on topics specific to late-life mental illness, psychopharmacology in the elderly, and ethical issues in geriatric care.

       •Serve as a mentor to trainees interested in careers in geriatric psychiatry. 

      Position Requirements: 

      •Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or equivalent degree. 

      •Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency program.

       •Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry is preferred

      About the Department

      • We have strong collaborative work with primary care, endocrinology, plastic surgery, urology, urogynecology, OBGYN, colorectal surgery, and others

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      • Key role as the sole Advanced Practice Provider for the gender Affirmation Surgery Team
      • Schedule: Five weekdays, no call, no weekends - Outpatient clinic (four days/week), first assist in the OR (One day/week) and minimal inpatient responsibilities

       

      Preferred Qualifications:

      · Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in surgical related specialty, including robotics, is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.

      · APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification if working in OR.

      · Procedural experience preferred.

            Preferred Job Qualifications:
            Experience:
            •Two (2) or more years prior experience in clinical research or related field

            Job Responsibilities:
            1.Recruits, consents, screens, schedules, tracks and provides study updates to study participants throughout the conduct of the study.
            2.Collects and enters data into study case report forms and/or electronic data capture system and responds to queries in a timely manner.
            3.Assists in preparing simple data summaries, reports, or charts to support study documentation and reporting requirements.
            4.Maintains accurate and complete procedural documentation including study participant and site level documentation in compliance with institutional, local, state and federal guidelines and regulations related to clinical research.
            5.Verifies data against 100% of source documentation for accuracy before entry into case report forms and electronic data capture systems to ensure timeliness and audit readiness.
            6.May collect, process and ship potentially biohazardous specimens.
            7.Administers structured tests and questionnaires according to research study protocols. May utilize study-related technology and equipment as part of assessment procedures.
            8.Provide ongoing study status updates and responds to questions from PI, Administrator, department stakeholders, Sponsor and Compliance throughout the conduct of the study.
            9.Maintains study flow by communicating promptly with study participants and coordinating with study team members as directed.
            10.Participate in auditing and monitoring visits. Gather and communicate unanticipated problems (protocol deviations, adverse events, and serious adverse events).
            11.Work with PI(s), sponsor, compliance, clinical staff and/or manager to identify and improve routine processes as it relates to the conduct of the research study.
            12.Other duties as assigned.
