      Summary:
      Anesthesiology Technologist II are responsible for troubleshooting and repairing anesthesia equipment in collaboration with the biomedical engineering team as well as processing reusable equipment to manufacturer specifications. This role serves as an aid to the anesthesia providers during emergencies ensuring that all inventory/airway emergency supplies are stocked to the quantity as outlined by policy. Additionally, Anesthesiology Technologist II assists in the training/orientation of new employees and provides leadership and mentorship to entry level anesthesia technologists. This role Exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and ICARE values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

      Other information:
      Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer. A.T.T.) Certified by the American Society of Anesthesia Technicians and Technologists (ASATT) eligible/preferred or equivalent job experience and training
      Must maintain BLS certification. ACLS/PALS preferred
      Five years or more experience in Anesthesia Services. Demonstrate skills as a Lead Tech as to teach and lead junior techs
      •Associate’s degree in Anesthesia Technology preferred

      Physical Requirements:
      Ability to safely transport anesthesia gas machines over long distances, lift 40 LBS or more, be on your feet for long periods of time.

      Responsibilities:
      1.Must be knowledgeable of the JACHO and IDPH regulations as it applies to Anesthesia.
      2.Immediately respond to emergency requests from anesthesia staff for additional supplies/equipment as required.
      3.Must be knowledgeable of terminology of anesthesia supplies and procedures.
      4.Assist in the preparation of the anesthesia site for all cases/procedures requiring anesthesia.
      5.Be familiar with the Medical Centers Safety Policies & Procedures.
      6.Assists in the training/orientation of new employees.
      7.Provide leadership and mentorship to entry-level anesthesia technicians, including training and assisting in their development.
      8.Assist in recovering equipment.
      9.Be certified in the use of the EVOTEK.
      10.Be responsible for the cleanliness of all airway equipment per hospital policy (i.e. Glidescopes, fiberoptic intubating scopes, etc).
      11.Maintain Anesthesia sites with the same specificity as the operating room suites which include the following areas but not limited to: PICU, Endoscopy, MRI, Interventional Radiology, IVF, OB and adjacent labor delivery rooms.
      12.Maintain inventory supplies in the prep recovery area in 5 atrium.
      13.Check all Anesthesia sites/inventory daily for outdated stock.
      14.Responsible for stocking OB, labor delivery rooms, Epidural bay room, and other supply sites.
      15.Responsible for assembling central line/ A-line kits in accordance with the agreed protocol.
      16.Set-up in preparation in the cardiac and neuro anesthesia sites.
      17.Check code bags for used/outdated equipment/ supplies and maintain inventory according to protocol.
      18.Remove and replace all used single patient care items immediately after each procedure/case.
      19.Assist in the turnover of cases, but not limited to: disposal of all single use items, replacement of the anesthesia circuit, suction canister and tubing, yankauer, ECG leads. Wiping down anesthesia machine and Pyxis cart.
      20.Monitor inventory supply/equipment levels throughout the day.
      21.Must be knowledgeable and be able to provide Airway set-ups, gas machine testing and troubleshooting, patient monitor set-ups and emergency airway assistance.
      22.Prepares, disinfects, and troubleshoots all anesthesia-related equipment and supplies for anesthetic procedures. This includes but is not limited to the following: Anesthesia Machines (e.g. Draeger, Draeger Apollo, etc.).
      23.Troubleshoot and repair anesthesia equipment malfunctions in collaboration with the biomedical engineering team or external vendors.
      24.Participate in quality assurance and safety audits related to anesthesia equipment.
      25.Must demonstrate strong communication skills and ability to work well with the team.

      Summary:
      The Medical Staff Quality & Performance Specialist provides process coordination and applies data analytics knowledge to assure that the Professional Practice evaluation process is effective and accurate in evaluating issues related to professional credentialing, conduct and practice. The Medical Staff Quality & Performance Specialist is responsible for collecting data, quality control of information, and statistical analysis of data for use in the OPPE/FPPE process. They will collect and analyze data, interpret results, and submit reports and recommendations to the leadership team as well as interpret results against set benchmarks following analysis and corresponding reports.       Requirements: 

      • Bachelor’s degree four (4) years of experience coordinating and monitoring quality and performance, preferably in an acute care (hospital) setting or HS Diploma or GED + eight (8) years of experience coordinating and monitoring quality and performance, preferably in an acute care (hospital) setting
      • Experience with Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) programs strongly preferred.
      • Advanced Excel skills required.

      Summary:
      The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.     The Medical Staff Quality & Performance Specialist provides process coordination and applies data analytics knowledge to assure that the Professional Practice evaluation process is effective and accurate in evaluating issues related to professional credentialing, conduct and practice. The Medical Staff Quality & Performance Specialist is responsible for collecting data, quality control of information, and statistical analysis of data for use in the OPPE/FPPE process. They will collect and analyze data, interpret results, and submit reports and recommendations to the leadership team as well as interpret results against set benchmarks following analysis and corresponding reports.     Requirements: 

    • Bachelor’s degree four (4) years of experience coordinating and monitoring quality and performance, preferably in an acute care (hospital) setting or HS Diploma or GED + eight (8) years of experience coordinating and monitoring quality and performance, preferably in an acute care (hospital) setting

    Responsibilities:

    • Under the direction of Director/Manager, coordinates the professional practice evaluation process which includes the review of and analysis of medical records, data collection, and aggregation/analysis.
    • Organizes and analyzes clinical and administrative data from multiple internal and external sources and synthesizes results into meaningful reports and presentation. Performs complex quality analysis utilizing benchmark data from various sources, as appropriate.
    • Applies data analytics knowledge to screening criteria to identify cases requiring further analysis through assessment of information from various data systems. Collaborates with other analytic teams to research data discrepancies and validate data for accuracy. Coordinates and communicates with Director/Manager and Credentials Committee to assure consistent screening and presentation of cases for professional practice evaluation.

    Responsibilities:
    1.Performs a variety of office functions including the retrieval and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail, faxes, filing, stocking of supplies, and preparation and dissemination of clinic correspondence and completion of Epic Administrative In-Box as directed.
    2.Accesses EPIC to retrieve referrals, orders and other documentation. Assists patients with Release of Information requests.
    3.Maintains and retrieves medical records per HIM and office protocol.
    4.Addresses patient calls efficiently and courteously. Takes accurate, clear and concise messages that provide sufficient information for the clinical staff and/or receiving party to effectively handle the issue/request.
    5.Schedules, cancels and/or reschedules patient appointments, as assigned. Places reminder calls or sends information to patients in advance of their appointment per office policy.
    6.Appropriately transfers patients to pre-registration for insurance verification.
    7.Prepares and disseminates patient letters and other correspondence from EPIC.
    8.Problem solves issues by seeking out the appropriate resources.
    9.Works collaboratively as part of the medical practice team.
    10.Performs other duties as assigned.

    Summary:
    The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting. The Medical Assistant assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as vital signs and point of care testing. In addition, the Certified Medical Assistant will administer intramuscular injections, immunizations, small volume nebulizer treatment, over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician.     •Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required (includes principles and techniques of injections and medication administration) required upon hire.
    •Graduates of a Rush Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program are required to obtain Clinical Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NAHP, AAH, or NHA required within six months of hire.

    Responsibilities:
    1.Coordinates and maintains organized patient flow.
    2.Performs patient intake: vital signs, height and weight, reason for visit, interim history, allergies, medication lists, and other interventions as required.
    3.Prepares patient for exam based on reason for visit.
    4.Prepares and supports patient and assists provider with procedures.
    5.Reviews appointment schedules and ensures all patient charts are available for the visit.
    6.Reviews patient charts and ensures that all ancillary reports and required paperwork are available to the provider at the time of visit.
    7.Performs basic lab and testing procedures according to standards.
    8.Performs phlebotomy and EKGs.
    9.Administers immunizations as ordered by Physician.
    10.Administers RUMG approved intramuscular or subcutaneous medications after competency has been assessed, verified and documented.
    11.Performs nebulizer treatments in the clinic setting after competency has been assessed, verified and documented.
    12.Performs Tuberculin skin testing upon the order of the Physician.
    13.Demonstrates appropriate population specific techniques with patients.
    14.Documents administration of over-the-counter medications and/or other medications in Epic per policy or protocol.
    15.Cleans, prepares and stocks exam rooms, treatment rooms, and workstations.
    16.Calls patients regarding test results and medical instruction under the direction of a Physician.
    17.Calls in medication refills under the direction of a Physician or protocol.
    18.Documents patient care information in the outpatient medical record according to standards.
    19.Assists with scheduling of patient tests, procedures, and follow-up appointments.
    20.Assists in the care, cleaning, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
    21.Maintains the inventory of medical and linen supplies.
    22.Maintains quality control for equipment.
    23.Provides cross coverage to other clinical areas as assigned.
    24.Participates in quality improvement projects.
    25.Maintains compliance with The Joint Commission (TJC) standards and other regulatory bodies.
    26.May have Unit specific duties as needed.
