Summary:
The Office of Institutional Equity (OIE), a division of Rush Legal, is responsible for Rush’s response to an array of internal investigations pertaining to members of the Rush system, including allegations of discrimination, harassment, sexual misconduct/harassment and allegations that a patient has been abused by a staff member. The Patient Abuse Investigator is a system-wide role and will be responsible for investigating all allegations of patient abuse, including physical, sexual, and mental abuse as defined by applicable laws and regulations and Rush policy. Patient Abuse investigations require strict adherence to a timeline in accordance with applicable Illinois laws and regulations; therefore, the Patient Abuse Investigator is an on-call role and will need to be available to respond to allegations of abuse when incidents occur across all Rush sites and campuses unless back-up support has been arranged. As such, the Patient Abuse Investigator will not always adhere to a typical Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. work week. Summary:
The Phlebotomist obtains blood specimens from patients by the invasive procedure of venipuncture. Once proficient in adult and geriatric venipuncture and with additional training, the phlebotomist performs skin puncture on neonates, skin puncture or venipuncture on children and adolescents. The phlebotomist is a liaison between the physician and Rush Medical Laboratories. The Patient Abuse Investigator is a system-wide role and will be responsible for investigating all allegations of patient abuse, including physical, sexual, and mental abuse as defined by applicable laws and regulations and Rush policy. Summary:
The Phlebotomist obtains blood specimens from patients by the invasive procedure of venipuncture. Once proficient in adult and geriatric venipuncture and with additional training, the phlebotomist performs skin puncture on neonates, skin puncture or venipuncture on children and adolescents. •Notifies appropriate personnel (supervisor, physician, and nurse) of problems or unusual situations encountered, for example, missed collections and patient unavailability, promptly. Attempts to resolve problems thoroughly before reporting to a supervisor.
•Performs LIS order entry correctly. Double checks orders in computer versus requisition to avoid mistakes and order omissions.
•Performs specimen accessioning and specimen processing. Advises physicians and nurses on how to order and schedule specimen collections in Clinical Provider Order Entry (CPOE).
•Documents on the clipboard (NCC) and collection set labels for missed or delayed draws with rare exception.
•Collections, Cancels and reschedules laboratory orders via communication with ordering physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse. Cancels and documents the same in LIS. Clears collection pending report at the end of shift.
•Participates willingly when asked to participate in special projects or events, for example health screenings and medical student phlebotomy training classes. Gathers data or examples of orders or specimen collections for recurrent problems, for example order modification process for CPOE/EPIC orders.
•Acts as "tech-in- charge for specified periods of time. Oversee operations according to departmental guidelines. Understands when to defer issues to appropriate personnel, for example a supervisor or director, and does so.

Summary:
Join RUSH University System for Health as an OR Materials Tech Advanced and play a vital role in supporting safe, efficient surgical operations. In this high-impact position, you will ensure the right supplies and implants are available at the right time—directly contributing to case readiness, on-time starts, and quality patient care. You’ll serve as a key partner to clinical teams, helping maintain seamless supply flow across the Operating Room and procedural areas.
In this advanced-level role, you will take ownership of inventory forecasting, replenishment, and optimization using systems such as Q-Sight and Par Excellence. You’ll manage implant and consignment inventory, monitor usage trends and expiring products, and proactively resolve supply issues before they impact surgical cases. Your work will include coordinating orders, validating shipments, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting fiscal and cycle count processes—all while ensuring a clean, organized, and compliant environment.
This role also provides leadership support within the OR Supply Chain team. You’ll help guide daily operations, troubleshoot real-time challenges, and provide backup and direction to team members as needed. The Nursing Assistant performs a variety of clinical and environmental tasks under the direction of the Registered Nurse. • Current enrollment in an accredited Baccalaureate or Masters entry level school of nursing with passing grades in all courses upon hire and on an annual basis or awaiting eligibility (within 3 months of graduation).

ASSISTS THE RN IN THE DELIVERY OF PATIENT CARE
1.Reports to charge Registered Nurse to designate for assignment of duties.
2.Maintains a safe patient environment.
3.Sets priority of duties based on needs of patient and unit, under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
4.Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, participates in the implementation of individualized plans of care.
5.Assists patients in activities of daily living.
6.Accurately obtains patient data and documents all care in the appropriate patient care record.
7.Performs routine procedures, treatments and specimen collections.
8.Demonstrates aseptic technique, when necessary.
9.Assists Registered Nurse or physician with advanced procedures.
10.Assists the nurse in the management of uncomplicated tubes and drains.

12.Demonstrates knowledge of age specific variables and growth and development.
13.Promptly reports changes in patient condition to the appropriate Registered Nurse.

14.Assists with admission, discharge, and transport of patients.
15.Transports laboratory specimens and patient belongings as required.
16.Obtains blood products, supplies and equipment as necessary.

Management and Development
1.Responsible for managing staff and day-to-day operations of the Community Health Worker (CHW) Hub and assuring execution of CHW partner programs in clinical and community settings.
2.Collaborating with community-based practices, research and service line leaders. Assist with development of CHW care model designs, care pathways, etc. Organize, facilitate and oversee CHW training. Manage staff of 20+ community health workers, lead community health workers, and supervisors. Recruits, hires, manages, and oversees training and orientation of staff members. Develops and implements a system to manage and evaluate the skill, experience and professional development needs of all staff.
3.Engages local and system leadership and other key internal stakeholders to support execution of community health equity strategies.
4.Represents Rush on coalitions, working groups, advisory boards, committees, panels, planning groups, etc. Provides assistance to these groups on topics relevant to health care, policy and systems change strategies and health disparities.
5.Engages internal stakeholders to align community needs and business imperatives, identify and deploy organizational resources that support community health improvement.

2.Contributes to grant proposal development, data collection, reporting and budget management.
