      Summary:
      The Pharmacist may fill the role of a number of different positions in the department. The Pharmacist may work in central operations, or in a satellite.       Geriatric Psychiatry– Clinical Faculty

      Rush University Medical Center, a nationally recognized clinical and academic institution and the teaching hospital for Rush Medical and Nursing Colleges, invites applications for the position of Geriatric Psychiatrist.

      The Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Rush University Medical Center is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Psychiatrist to join our faculty. This position involves a combination of clinical service delivery, scholarly activity, and educational responsibilities focused on the diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders in older adults. The ideal candidate will be committed to advancing patient care, medical education, and research within the field.

      Clinical Care:

       •Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and management for patients aged 65 and older across various settings, including, outpatient clinics, and consultation-liaison services within the hospital. 

      •Diagnose and treat complex conditions such as major neurocognitive disorders (dementia), mood disorders (e.g., geriatric depression), anxiety disorders, and psychosis in the context of advanced age and medical comorbidities. 

      •Collaborate closely with neurologists, geriatricians, primary care providers, and neuropsychologists to develop integrated care plans. 

      Education and Teaching: 

      •Actively participate in the teaching of medical students, and psychiatry residents. 

      •Develop and deliver lectures, seminars, and clinical supervision on topics specific to late-life mental illness, psychopharmacology in the elderly, and ethical issues in geriatric care.

       •Serve as a mentor to trainees interested in careers in geriatric psychiatry. 

      Position Requirements: 

      •Doctor of Medicine (M.D.), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.), or equivalent degree. 

      •Successful completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency program.

       •Successful completion of an accredited Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry is preferred 

      •Board certified or board eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN).

          Summary:

          Seeking a detail-oriented and scientifically driven Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support diagnostic neuropathology workflows for Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular pathologies, and other neurodegenerative diseases within the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. This role entails performing tissue dissections and processing, cutting, and staining human tissue. The research fellow will use routine and quantitative microscopic techniques (optical dissector stereology, image analysis, slide scanning/computerized algorithms, confocal) for the collection of neuropathologic and neuroanatomic markers and evaluating microscopic degenerative, vascular, and inflammatory neuropathologies to diagnose Alzheimer’s Disease and related pathologies, and other neurodegenerative and vascular diseases of aging. This Research Fellow will also apply digital image analysis workflows using platforms such as HALO, Aperio ImageScope, or comparable systems for segmentation and morphometric analysis and perform macroscopic evaluations of brain pathology for common diseases and aspects of aging. This role also requires participation in human autopsy rotation, including on-call brain procurement and postmortem tissue dissection and processing.

        About the Department

        • We have strong collaborative work with primary care, endocrinology, plastic surgery, urology, urogynecology, OBGYN, colorectal surgery, and others

        Duties & Responsibilities:

        • Key role as the sole Advanced Practice Provider for the gender Affirmation Surgery Team
        • Schedule: Five weekdays, no call, no weekends - Outpatient clinic (four days/week), first assist in the OR (One day/week) and minimal inpatient responsibilities

         

        Preferred Qualifications:

        · Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in surgical related specialty, including robotics, is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.

        · APRN Candidates will require Acute Care Certification and First Assistant Certification if working in OR.

            Summary:

            Seeking a detail-oriented and scientifically driven Postdoctoral Research Fellow to support diagnostic neuropathology workflows for Alzheimer's disease, cerebrovascular pathologies, and other neurodegenerative diseases within the Rush Alzheimer’s Disease Center. This role entails performing tissue dissections and processing, cutting, and staining human tissue. The research fellow will use routine and quantitative microscopic techniques (optical dissector stereology, image analysis, slide scanning/computerized algorithms, confocal) for the collection of neuropathologic and neuroanatomic markers and evaluating microscopic degenerative, vascular, and inflammatory neuropathologies to diagnose Alzheimer’s Disease and related pathologies, and other neurodegenerative and vascular diseases of aging. This Research Fellow will also apply digital image analysis workflows using platforms such as HALO, Aperio ImageScope, or comparable systems for segmentation and morphometric analysis and perform macroscopic evaluations of brain pathology for common diseases and aspects of aging. This role also requires participation in human autopsy rotation, including on-call brain procurement and postmortem tissue dissection and processing.
