      Rush Heart & Vascular, part of the Rush University System for Health network of hospitals, is seeking a BC/BE Non-Invasive Cardiologist to join our growing practice in Chicago’s western suburbs. This cardiologist will help shape the future of Cardiology in Yorkville, Illinois, and will ideally be fellowship trained in advanced cardiac imaging.

      Department Specifics:

      · Rush Heart & Vascular’s western practice is based at Rush Copley Medical Center and has specialists dedicated to diagnosing and treating virtually every type of cardiac or vascular problem in adults.

      · We provide comprehensive care for both the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular disease.

      · Our services include general cardiology, interventional cardiology and electrophysiology with a fully equipped diagnostic center including nuclear cardiology, echocardiography and vascular ultrasound.

      · We offer early detection and screening programs, an outpatient chest pain center, and cardiac CT/MRI.

      · Through its partnership with Rush University Medical Center, patients have access to subspecialty programs in cardio-oncology, advanced heart failure, and structural heart disease.

      Duties & Responsibilities:

      · Provide high-quality inpatient and outpatient care to patients with a variety of cardiovascular conditions.

      · Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of cardiologists, advanced practice providers, and clinical staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

      · Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives within the cardiology program.

      · Contribute to program growth and innovation through participation in outreach, education, and clinical research initiatives.

      · Engage in ongoing professional development and maintain board certification and credentialing requirements.

      Rush offers competitive total compensation that includes base pay, benefits, and other incentive programs for our employees. This total pay range is for a full-time, 1.0 FTE employee, and includes any incentive payments that may be applicable to this role.       Pay Range: $510,000 - $695,000

        Summary:
        The Phlebotomist obtains blood specimens from patients by the invasive procedure of venipuncture. The phlebotomist is a liaison between the physician and Rush Medical Laboratories.         •Keeps work area, phlebotomy cart, and personal appearance, neat, clean, and organized.
        •Stocks supplies at the appropriate level and does not overstock supplies. Replenishes supplies at the end of the shift.
        •Notifies appropriate personnel (supervisor, physician, and nurse) of problems or unusual situations encountered, for example, missed collections and patient unavailability, promptly. Attempts to resolve problems thoroughly before reporting to a supervisor.
        •Performs LIS order entry correctly. Double checks orders in computer versus requisition to avoid mistakes and order omissions.
        •Performs specimen accessioning and specimen processing. Advises physicians and nurses on how to order and schedule specimen collections in Clinical Provider Order Entry (CPOE).
        •Documents on the clipboard (NCC) and collection set labels for missed or delayed draws with rare exception.
        •Collections, Cancels and reschedules laboratory orders via communication with ordering physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse. Cancels and documents the same in LIS. Clears collection pending report at the end of shift.
        •Participates willingly when asked to participate in special projects or events, for example health screenings and medical student phlebotomy training classes. Gathers data or examples of orders or specimen collections for recurrent problems, for example order modification process for CPOE/EPIC orders.
        •Acts as "tech-in- charge for specified periods of time. Oversee operations according to departmental guidelines. Understands when to defer issues to appropriate personnel, for example a supervisor or director, and does so.

        • Proficient in modality physics and operation of equipment.
        • Knowledge of human anatomy, pathology and physiology.

        Physical Demands:
        • Requires full range body motion including handling and lifting patients when necessary.
        • Requires manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.

        Responsibilities:
        1.Provides quality patient care as defined by departmental and Age Specific standards of care.
        2.Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality.
        3.Follows departmental protocols and procedures in the performance of exams and produces work that meets quality standards.
        4.Produces work in an efficient manner that meets departmental productivity standards.
        5.Maintains the physical work environment in a manner that meets departmental and regulatory requirements.
        6.Has a working knowledge of the Radiology Information System and PACS.
        7.Reports supply shortage or equipment failure to section supervisor.
        8.Follows work and patient schedules.
        9.Assist Radiologist in the performance of procedures. Handles, administers and documents medications under direct supervision of a radiologist and following the guidelines of the Rush Pharmacy and technical licensure.

        11.Maintains logs and documentation as per departmental protocol.
        12.Provides patient history or information necessary for proper interpretation of the procedure.
        13.Maintains licensure/registry status as determined by state or regulatory bodies.
        14.Participates in the training and development of students assigned to area through clinical affiliations.
