The Epi Research Assistant will perform venipuncture (phlebotomy) and collect blood samples for the U.S. POINTER study
General Summary:
The Research Assistant is responsible for collecting information from participants according to the established sleep and circadian protocols. Conduct interviews, epidemiological, social or behavioral assessments, and collect data and/or biological samples from research participants and families in studies. Responsibilities:
1.Recruit and screen study participants: posting ads, distributing flyers, calling participants, meeting with participants virtually or in person.

Summary:
The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 is a registered nurse (RN) who works collaboratively with physician practices and multi-disciplinary teams as to promote the effective utilization of services and coordination of care for patients within the Section of Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy within the Cancer Center service line. 4.Pick up and deliver needed items as requested including medications from the pharmacy, satellites or blood center as needed in support of OR Transport Services.
5.Acquire supplies and equipment required to assist in the delivery of patient care as needed.
6.Order and restock supplies located in support tech work area.
7.Monitor blanket warmer in sterile core and OR rooms.
8.Notify dispatch supervisor if additional supplies are needed.
9.Restock warmer as needed to provide for patient warmth.

27.Cleans nursing desk drawers and removes all extraneous items.
28.Returns lead gowns to assigned spaces in assigned rooms.
29.Begins preparation for following days patients by ensuring all required items are available and in the room, including appropriate operating room tables, positioning devices, lead aprons and other standardized items as identified by the specialty staff.
30.Assists circulating RN during activation of the Major Blood Loss Protocol by manning the tube station.
31.Ensures blood is removed from the Operating Room blood kiosks following completion of surgical procedures in assigned rooms.

The Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Oncology Nurse Navigator 2 is a registered nurse (RN) who works collaboratively with physician practices and multi-disciplinary teams as to promote the effective utilization of services and coordination of care for patients within the Section of Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapy within the Cancer Center service line. The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Per Diem assists licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy performing duties as assigned in fulfilling the needs of the Inpatient Pharmacy and the Medical Center. The Inpatient Pharmacy Technician Per Diem will staff in areas requiring specialty training and technical skills, including sterile medication preparation. The Per Diem technician exemplifies the Rush mission, vision and values and acts in accordance with Rush policies and procedures.

Required Job Qualifications:
•High school graduate or equivalent.
•Individual must have EXCPT and/or PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification or ability to achieve w/in 8 months of hire.
• Individuals licensed BEFORE January 1, 2008 are grandfathered; they are not required to become nationally certified or hold the "Certified" designation to continue working as a registered pharmacy technician in Illinois.
•Current State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician licensure
•At least 2 years previous experience as a pharmacy technician or equivalent health-care related practice

•Ability to travel across the Rush campus/system if necessary.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a per diem position with staffing contingent on the needs of the department. Days and hours of work are not guaranteed. Per diem individuals will be notified of shifts available for pickup by the pharmacy technician operations coordinator or leadership team. Per diem individuals must pick up at least 2 shifts each month to remain active per diem staff.
Responsibilities:
• Performs specialized Inpatient Pharmacy work in the organization Inpatient Pharmacy areas such as in the following areas: IV compounding, Chemotherapy, OR pharmacy or Pediatrics.
• Maintain or establish fundamental knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
a. Basic Pharmacy Knowledge:
i. Recognizes and identifies various classifications of medications, medication names, dosage forms and routes of administration.
ii. Ability to appropriately label all medication dosage forms including auxiliary labels for expiration and storage as required.
iii. Responsible for the accurate interpretation of EPIC pharmacy labels:
i. Interpretation and understanding of medical abbreviations.
ii.Identification and differentiation of different types of medication orders (Scheduled, PRN, Once, STAT, NOW).
iv. Performs pharmaceutical calculations accurately, including fundamental math calculations, metric conversions, and pharmaceutical dose calculations.
b. Regulatory:
i. Compliance with USP regulations related to compounding, repackaging, labeling and delivery of medications including but not limited to USP 795, 797 and 800.
ii. Responsible for knowing the laws and regulations related to controlled substances.
iii. Maintain competencies for all areas worked.
i. Includes initial competency and annual competency requirements.
c. Technology
i. Ability to utilize technology in the pharmacy including, but not limited to BD Logistics, medication carousels, EPIC, RxVerify and temperature reports as needed for assigned duties.
ii.Ability to troubleshoot Pyxis equipment (i.e.: failed drawers, inventory, outdates, opening service tickets).
iii. Facilitate optimal performance of pharmacy equipment, including, opening service tickets, troubleshooting, triaging issues or escalating concerns to pharmacy leadership team.
d. Policies and Procedures
i. Act in accordance with published policy and procedure documents.
ii. Reference policy and procedure documents as needed.
e. Workflows
i. Ability to complete responsibilities as stated on task list.
ii. Ability to differentiate and prioritize patient and Pyxis specific medication refills.
iii. Executing accurate and timely delivery of medications according to priority.
iv. Maintain inventory appropriately.
i. Frequent stock rotation.
ii. Maintain temperature specific medication storage.
iii.Maintain PAR levels in central and satellite pharmacy locations.
iv. Perform outdates and inventory counts as appropriate.
v. Training new employees as needed.

With a high degree of accuracy collects, verifies and enters into Epic the patient's demographic, employer, financial, emergency contact, insurance, subscriber and case-specific information, such as referring physician and diagnosis.
2.Consistently has patient sign and scan all necessary documents for completion of the admission process; consent, ID, insurance card, MIMS, OBS, COB, etc.
3.Consistently and accurately obtains and interpret the patient's insurance benefits and possess the ability to communicate this information accurately to the patient and co-workers.
4.Has the ability to determine the patient's financial obligation and communicate this information accurately and with respect to the patient.
5.Performs registration functions consistent with Federal, State and Local regulatory agencies and payer requirements, and organizational policies and procedures, including HIPAA privacy and security Regulations, as well as JACHO.
6.Upon decision of patient’s admission, has the knowledge and skill to perform the admission notification (NOA) process which is a required communication with the patient’s payer to ensure that the payment for patient’s inpatient stay is secured.
7.Appropriately informs the patients of hospital policies that govern the revenue cycle. Minimizes the potential financial risk of patients accounts by discussing with the patient and/or guarantor their financial responsibility for upcoming visits/procedures, past due balances and referral requirements. Offers options and negotiates acceptable resolution of estimated patient balance.
8.Receives and properly responds to, or directs telephone inquiries from patients, payers, physicians and their staff, internal department and other persons and entities.
9..Ability to exercise good customer service skills when communicating with both our patients as well as our internal customers. Able to find resolution within the phone interaction satisfactory to the caller and/or having the knowledge when to escalate to their supervisor.
10.Interacts and collaborates with numerous departments to resolve issues while also analyzing necessary information that will ensure hospital reimbursement.
