      Summary:
      Under the general supervision of a Security Supervisor, the armed Security Officer will provide physical protection for persons and safeguarding of property on the Rush University Medical Center (RUMC) Campus. The security officer will report and document infractions of rules, regulations and policies of RUMC; and violations of federal, state and local laws and/or ordinances. The security officer will exemplify the RUMC missions, visions and values and act in accordance with RUMC policies and procedures.

      Knowledge:
      High School graduate or GED.
      Previous hospital security experience preferred but not required.
      Valid driver’s (Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin) license required.
      Must have a prior driving record deemed acceptable to RUMC based upon the results of a Motor Vehicle Report check conducted by Human Resources.
      Must possess and be responsible for maintaining current Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC).
      Must have completed 28 hours firearm training as demonstrated through a certification of successful completion of Firearms Training Course.

      Job Summary:
      The Operations Specialist, Financial Aid is a senior-level operational professional responsible for executing and supporting complex financial aid processing, systems functionality, and compliance activities. This role plays a critical function in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of financial aid services that support student success, enrollment goals, and institutional risk management.

      Working under the direction of the Associate Director for Operations, the Operations Specialist applies advanced knowledge of financial aid regulations, systems, and operational workflows to resolve complex cases, support system integrity, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.       Position Specifics: 

      •This role will be joining the general neurology division managing complex patients in an outpatient setting. The position will work alongside physicians and APPs partnering as a team.

       •The Rush Department of Neurological Sciences is a large academic department with more than 100 faculty, spanning neurologic specialties, providing the opportunity to collaborate with other neurology specialists. 

      •Typical schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm. 

      Key Responsibilities 

      •Clinical Excellence: Perform detailed neurological histories and physical examinations to formulate differential diagnoses and treatment plans.

       •Chronic Disease Management: Manage long-term care for patients with chronic conditions across the spectrum of general neurology including patients with autonomic disorders, chronic pain and migraines. 

      •Diagnostic Coordination: Order and interpret specialized diagnostic tests, including Brain/Spine MRI, EEG, EMG/NCS, and laboratory studies. 

      •Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Act as a liaison between the patient and the multidisciplinary team, including neurosurgery, physical therapy, social work, and pharmacy. 

      •Patient & Family Education: Serve as a primary resource for patients and their caregivers regarding disease progression, medication side effects, and lifestyle modifications. 

       Preferred Qualifications: 

      •Applicants with previous Advanced Practice Provider experience in General Neurology is preferred. Relevant RN experience may be considered.

      Summary:

      The Per Diem Midnight Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of central drug distribution operations during overnight hours. This includes sterile compounding (IV admixtures and chemotherapy), repackaging of oral liquids, and oral unit dose dispensing via carousel systems. The pharmacist will perform comprehensive Epic order verification to ensure medication therapy is accurate, safe, and clinically appropriate. Key responsibilities also include coordinating timely medication delivery to nursing units, providing oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians, and always maintaining clear and professional communication. Strong multitasking skills and adherence to appropriate phone etiquette are essential for success in this role.       1. Oversee central pharmacy operations, including medication order verification, sterile product verification, automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) management, oral drug compounding/repackaging, and the timely dispensing and delivery of medications.

      2. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>. 

      3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of central pharmacy workflows related to Pyxis systems and patient-specific medication filling processes, including verification of orders from central pharmacy dispensing carousels, storeroom carousels, and cleanroom production areas.

      Summary:

      The Per Diem Midnight Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all aspects of central drug distribution operations during overnight hours. This includes sterile compounding (IV admixtures and chemotherapy), repackaging of oral liquids, and oral unit dose dispensing via carousel systems. The pharmacist will perform comprehensive Epic order verification to ensure medication therapy is accurate, safe, and clinically appropriate. Key responsibilities also include coordinating timely medication delivery to nursing units, providing oversight and guidance to pharmacy technicians, and always maintaining clear and professional communication. Strong multitasking skills and adherence to appropriate phone etiquette are essential for success in this role.       Pharmacist midnight shifts are one of the following: 2030-0630, 2100-0700, or 2130 – 0730.

      Responsibilities 

      1. Oversee central pharmacy operations, including medication order verification, sterile product verification, automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) management, oral drug compounding/repackaging, and the timely dispensing and delivery of medications.

      2. Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including USP <795>, <797>, and <800>. 

      3. Demonstrate a strong understanding of central pharmacy workflows related to Pyxis systems and patient-specific medication filling processes, including verification of orders from central pharmacy dispensing carousels, storeroom carousels, and cleanroom production areas.

       4. Review and verify Epic medication orders for therapeutic appropriateness, accurate dosing, optimal dosage form, potential drug interactions, allergies, route and rate of administration, and therapeutic duplications. 

      5. Ensure order accuracy by communicating directly and promptly with prescribers or designated practitioners in accordance with RUMC and departmental policies and procedures. 

      6. Provide evidence-based pharmacotherapy recommendations and drug information to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support optimal patient care.

      7. Ensure documentation of clinical interventions in a timely and thorough manner using Epic Ivents.

      8. Participate in departmental quality improvement initiatives and contribute to clinical or operational departmental safety.

        The Pharmacy Technician III assists licensed pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy performing the duties described in the Technician II position description as well as serving as a role model for other technicians through added responsibilities, specialization in technician pharmacy practice, demonstrating leadership and initiative, and fulfilling the needs of the department.
        The Technician III is actively involved in the training and development process and the development of policies and procedures specific to their practice site and is responsible for the daily technical operations of the area. The Technician III must have the capacity to work effectively and efficiently in areas routinely requiring a higher degree of prolonged technical concentration, liability, and risk.

        Required Job Qualifications:
        • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent.
        • Current State of Illinois Pharmacy Technician license.
        • Individual must have EXCPT and/or PTCB (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board) certification.
        • Individuals licensed BEFORE January 1, 2008 are grandfathered; they are not required to become nationally certified or hold the "Certified" designation to continue working as a registered pharmacy technician in Illinois.
        • At least 6 months of previous experience as a pharmacy technician.
        Preferred Job Qualifications:
        • Two years of college training or its equivalent.
        • ACPE IV certification.
        • Hazardous drug compounding certification.
        Physical Demands:
        • Ability to lift/move 30-50 pounds.
        • Ability to stand for long period of time (4+ hours) between breaks.
        • Ability to crouch when filling dispensing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
        • May be exposed to certain hazardous materials, including but not limited to chemotherapeutic agents.
        • This position requires up to 10% travel. Employee needs to be able to work extended hours due to business needs.
        Competencies:

        G. Pediatrics drug identification and compounding
        H. ADC configuration, set up, troubleshooting, report running, review, and analysis
        I. MPI Prepacker
        J. Storeroom ordering
        K. Recalls; processing, segregating and removing from inventory/ADCs

        Responsibilities:
        • Active participation in the Pharmacy Department Technician Career Ladder development and ongoing revisions.
        • Interacts professionally and appropriately with other healthcare professionals and Rush system employees.
        • Demonstrates ability to coach/train other technicians and pharmacy students.
        • Demonstrates adaptability, initiates action, manages work, contributes to team success, communication, professional knowledge and technical skills, continuous learning and exhibits a passion for the Rush Mission, Vision and Values according to the Department of Pharmacy Technician Career Ladder expectations
        • Recognizes and identifies various classifications of medications, medication names, dosage forms and routes of administration.
        • Ability to use available print and online references as appropriate.
        • Understand the pharmacy workflow for first doses, Automated Dispensing Cabinet (ADC) refills, cart fill and batches.
        • Understand the pharmacy workflow for medication returns and medication disposal.
        • Performs pharmaceutical calculations accurately including fundamental math calculations, metric conversions, pharmaceutical dose calculations and parenteral dose calculations.
        • Responsible for the accurate interpretation of EPIC pharmacy labels:
        • Interpretation and understanding of medical abbreviations.
        • Identification and differentiation of various types of medication orders (Scheduled, PRN, Once, STAT, NOW).
        • Ability to appropriately label all medication dosage forms including auxiliary labels for expiration and storage as required.
        • Responsible for the accurate and timely filling and delivery of patient-specific medications and ADC restocks.
        • Ability to troubleshoot ADC equipment (i.e.: failed drawers, inventory, outdates).
        • Ability to utilize technology in the pharmacy including, but not limited to CII Safe, Carousels, DoseEdge, WASP, MILT, RxVerify as needed for assigned duties.
        • Responsible for the preparation of non-sterile compounding and packaging:
        • Ability to accurately draw up oral syringes, compound oral suspensions and other duties as assigned.
        • Recognizes the regulations for repackaging medications and complies with all required labeling and documentation procedures for non-sterile compounding and packaging.
        • Responsible for answering phones, assisting caller with missing medication requests and any other technical duties as assigned.
        • Responsible for utilization of Epic for technical requests (i.e.: missing mediations, ADC out of stock and responding to in-basket messages)
        • Responsible for inventory, storage and supply maintenance of assigned areas.
        • Responsible for training and compliance with USP <797>, USP <800>, USP <795>, and aseptic technique practices when preparing sterile and non-sterile products:
        • Recognizes incompatible, unstable and/or expired compounded products.
        • Maintains all required documentation of compounded products and production areas for sterile and non-sterile products.
        • Recognizes investigational drug orders and documentation requirements for preparation and use.
        • Responsible for exchanging emergency carts and completion of required documentation..
        • Responsible for knowing the laws and regulations related to controlled substances.
        • Maintain cleanliness of all equipment and work areas.
        • Knowledge of departmental and Medical Center safety practices.
        • Awareness of departmental quality assurance processes.
        • Actively participates in various departmental committees and educational activities as assigned.
        • Assists supervisor and pharmacist working in the area in the execution of related assignments involving technical support for the department
        • Responsible for participation in the review, revision, and preparation of related policies and procedures for the Department of Pharmacy Policy and Procedure manual.
        • Provides departmental support and leadership in fulfilling departmental staffing needs as required during short staffing situations.
        • Any and all other duties as assigned.
